Before I have Future Pinball I has Gottlieb Pinball Classics for my Nintendo Wii.
I like the ambience sound - have a look on my all time favorite Gottlieb Genie: http://www.dailymoti...ll-classics_fun

Hear only on the background sound - people speak, playing pinball or others.
I like it very much...

Today I search the internet for some sound files.
You must search for ambience sound arcade or pinball hall or pinball sound effects etc.
Search for Sound dogs is a good idea too.
Searching on youtube - make a splitting of video/audio - why not - all is possible.
For example this:

Play the videos without a picture - for example as new tab in your browser.

or search for casino and mix it with some pinball sounds

When you preview some on websites be patient, lot's of them cost money. I preview some of that - one I find is 3 min long. That's all I need.
The track for money is better and longer, but I only need some background-sound effects on a low noise level- not more.

Now I cut it with wavepad and mix it with a night ambience sound.

- Export it as .wav
- import it with future pinball as music - and then I'm near on the sound effects of the game on my Nintendo Wii.

I thinks ambience sound is a importend thing in a game - for me it's the same the music in a movie.
My first and last play with a real pinball was as a child 24 years ago - I have the ambience sound in my ears now again. cool.gif
For all this long time - I play much of the C64, Amiga, PC Pinballs.
What do you think about ambience sounds in classic pinball games without background music?

Can you upload your sound wave for us to hear? It sounds like a cool idea.

It is a preview file http://www.sounddogs...UNDDOGS__ar.mp3
Again to all: be patient with this - It's only a "preview" file for a sound effect that costs money, want to use it only for me don't upload it again.

I must give up here, because I know nothing about scripting. unsure.gif
Want to make it in Future Pinball as background music - but where must I write the code and what must I write.
I know nothing about this.
The second with the night-sounds hear not good. I only cut a little bit the preview-file.

Have only test with mediaplayer in background... that hear good so far. But not all pinballs need it - that's why I want to import it in every classic-table.

no clue on fp but in vp you just have a sub that says
Sub Playsound"your music file name here"
End Sub not sure if fp is the same

A little bit more, but not much.

So I try out something:
' *********************************************************************
' ** **
' ** Future Pinball Defined Script Events **
' ** **
' *********************************************************************
' The Method Is Called Immediately the Game Engine is Ready to
' Start Processing the Script.
'
Sub FuturePinball_BeginPlay()
PlayMusic 1, "my music file", TRUE,0.2
With that I have the music from the beginning - one sound of the table and the music has cancel.

With a playable background sound with use of a media player in Windows, for all tables (before I start hyperpin) is better to handling for me I think.
With this I can easy play or stop the backgroundsound, change the volume etc.
The best - I have not to edit the scripts in all my classic tables.

It's the better and easier way for me - and I have the backgroundsound in tables with background music too.

in vp you use the command
Sub Playsound" name of file here",-1
End Sub
The ' -1' means that it will loop; at songs end it will start up again, giving you an endless music stream, well relatively since there is the slight pause at music files end before it start up again. don't know if the -1 is used in fp though but maybe this will help those vp'ers out there!
to end it just use the command
Sub Silence
Stopsound"Death"
StopSound"motor pool"
Stopsound"foghat"
End Sub
you can then end any sound file for a next one to play without having them overlap at all. what you do is list ALLsound files under the STOPSOUND command line:
the actual lines of code are here, I just pulled this from my wip:
'Sound stop - insert names of sounds and music wav files in yout table in these stopsound lines.
'this is important, as you can then run the soundstop routine to halt all sound before running a
'new music clip. This way, you can avoid clashing music in your tables.
sub soundstop
stopsound ""
stopsound ""
stopsound ""
stopsound ""
stopsound ""
end sub

Um.. it's a .mp3

So it's

PlayMusic "ar.mp3"

then perhaps...

Sub Table1_MusicDone( )
PlayMusic "ar.mp3"
End Sub

for repetition

Files I have uploaded here...

And as you are in an arcade center, it's normal you have always a background sound and not only when you play...
So, your solution is a good solution!

I'm using this since some time now

The Arcade Ambience Project

a set of mp3 that last an hour long or so with recreated arcade ambience from dinsinct time periods

download the files from: http://arcade.hofle.com/downloads.htm

Just play them on your media player, and play them with low volume so you focus on the pinball table music and sounds but still hear the ambience

the d/load times for me are all over 15 minutes and I have high speed cable! is that's ok, though, with most of mine I use songs anyways, but sounds like it'd be a neat idea, (if anyone can upload the zip file here I'd appreciate it)

15min are not much for me... I'm from the time there are 5000 Bits/s was fast - that was 5 KBit/s whistle.gif
Have 6MBit over tv-cable (can have 25Mbit for more money) - I can get it, how long it takes. No problem.

@totalnoob,

want to say thanks to you for this!
It's nice, but a little bit to much arcade wink.gif

I search more for a pinball hall sound.
More like this: http://de.audiomicro...-effekte-527128

Mixing something of this: http://de.audiomicro...alle/rootcat:3/

I'm finished, make a little video
The best sound I can find is this: http://de.audiomicro...-effekte-520740
Mix the end with another sound.

Hear the background "I'm in a big table hall and all like it to play pinball" otvclap.gif

I think I be near on the ambience I want: http://www.dailymoti...ll-classics_fun

I use FRAPS for capture, every sound recording tool can make the same.
Recode it with Xmediarecode and cut it with Wavepad - play it with repeat in windows media player, take 30% volume for the player.
