I see this has been downloaded a few times, yet no one has commented on it's playability.

When I load it up I can only play one ball. After it drains there is no second ball coming to the plunger.

Does anyone else have this issue?

You might try deleting your nvram. I tried it here and it plays a full game.

You can also check the F6 dipswitch menu to see if 1 ball was selected after you deleted the nvram. Look at the tutorial for Game Plan MPU-2 Second Generation to see what I mean. Here is the link:

I have this but haven't tried it. When I did (after reading this) it couldn't find the rom despite it being in the right place. All other VPM games play though. I did notice that the sound rom was missing from the download though. The game requires 830a, b, and c, and the sound rom which isn't in the ladyshot download. It only has the 830a, b, and c.

I've gone through the following steps about 7 times to verify my results

1. Deleted nvram and cfg files.

2. Load table with VP8, hit 'continue anyways' on rom window, hit F3 before adding coins.

3. Table reloads. Coin accepted. Play and finish a 3 ball game per correct dipswitch setting. Or sometimes get only 2 balls and that's it.

4. If I complete a 3 ball game I receive 3 credits for a new high score. Using 1 of these credits I sometimes get a 1 or 2 ball game.

5.I can hit F3 or exit and reload, but I can no longer receive 3 balls. Sometimes none, sometimes 1 or 2.

So I'm still stumped, considering things start correctly.

Is the Tilt lamp turning on when you don't get the correct number of balls on your computer? I saw the problem once, deleted my nvram, and it hasn't shown up again for me ever again.
It's another mystery why it isn't being reliable for you.

Looks like it's an emulation bug. The table script is correct. Could you try increasing the replay levels and see if that makes a difference for you?

I agree. Try that to see if it works.

No, the tilt lamp isn't coming on Destruk.

I've done another run of deleting nvrams and it's a mystery. I might grab an older version of VP8 to see if that helps.

I'm curious about the VBS script involved when you push 'B' to add a ball to the trough. Since that doesn't work either, would that indicate some aspect of my problem? Mostly it feels like the script is missing something in delivering the right number of balls. But I know that makes no sense.

I played a few of the other Gameplan tables I have and they all play fine. I'll try the replay settings now

I adjusted the replay settings and they stuck alright, because I went back in to confirm my changes. I did this after deleting the nvram and cfg to be sure it was all fresh.

I got one ball to play. After it drains all the lights on the table flash to indicate next ball coming, the ball number in display changes to 2, but nothing into the trough.

It's a single ball game, so B wouldn't really accomplish much IMO.
Anyway, sometimes the solenoid for ball release (15) doesn't fire for this one - so we'll have to fix vpm for it.
What you could do is add a keycode to the keydown routine -

Sub Table1_KeyUp(ByVal KeyCode)
If KeyCode=RightFlipperKey Then Controller.Switch(27)=1
If vpmKeyUp(KeyCode) Then Exit Sub
If KeyCode=PlungerKey Then PlaySound"Plunger":Plunger.Fire
End Sub

Sub Table1_KeyDown(ByVal KeyCode)
If KeyCode=30 then bsTrough.ExitSol_On
If KeyCode=RightFlipperKey Then Controller.Switch(27)=0
If vpmKeyDown(KeyCode) Then Exit Sub
If KeyCode=PlungerKey Then Plunger.Pullback
End Sub

This way to eject a ball you would press "A" on the keyboard. That seems to work ok for me, but it shouldn't be needed - pinmame will need to be adjusted.

Thanks to all for getting involved with this interesting problem I encountered.

Though I wasn't too discouraged, it was somewhat frustrating trying to fix something that I assumed was only happening with my install.

I'll try popping in that piece of script to see what happens ta2686.
