Hi all. I am able to get to function/option 30, but from within these options, can't seem to make any changes (up/down). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

A screen shot of what you're looking at might help as well as the VP "original" version number of Black Knight you are talking about too. Unless you're talking about a real Black Knight pinball?

I am assuming you have followed the instructions for the Williams System 7 that is in my Balls per Game Adjustment for non-DMD tables thread. When you reach menu option 30 and then press 1 does anything happen? Look in the first player display before you press 1 and then after you press 1. Does that value change at all after you press 1?

This is of course taking into account you were wondering about changing the value on a VP table, not a real BK.

I will double check my VP version of BK to make sure that procedure is correct.

EDIT: Just checked this on my VP version of BK....it works. Will adjust the tutorial to say to look for the value in the first player display.

@ta2686: I am talking about VP, not a real table. Sorry if I was unclear. My was that indeed, when I press "1" (the start button), it wasn't changing anything in the player one window, though I knew that it is supposed to. I knew that it was option 30 without even checking your other thread, because I had already downloaded a .PDF of the BK manual. I will actually take a lok at your thread, to see if I missed something obvious (which is entirely possible, since I did this in the middle fothe night).

Also, I know that the start button wasn't remapped on my keyboard, which was one of my initial theories, because pressing "1" in attract mode *does* start the game as normal. Maybe, if all else fails, I'll delete the config/nvram files for BK and see if that clears the issue, unless you or anyone else has another suggestion.

Thanks.

I don't think that you did miss anything, as that was the information I used to create that tutorial (after checking it against the other System 7 tables made).

I think you had a good idea by deleting the nvram/config files and trying it again. If that doesn't work, one thing you can also check is to look at the script and see if S7.vbs is referenced. It should be at the top of the script, although I don't know which version of BK you are looking at.

I just put my contacts in. Holy typos--sorry about that! smile.gif

Yes, S7.vbs is referenced in the script. I'm using Black Knight version vp9 2.1.

Found the answer....

The reels JP used for the match/ball in play display are reversed. By that I mean the first digit is in the second position, and vice versa. You have to go into the editor, go into the backdrop and reverse the position of those two reels. Right now, when you are seeing option 30 in that display it is really option 03.

I was looking at my adjusted version of the table on my other machine earlier, just downloaded it to the machine I'm using now and noticed the reversed reel position again.

Sorry about that!

AHA! Whew, thank you so much for spotting that. Now I can play with 5 balls **AND** I am know I'm not crazy. I kept saying to myself, "I swear that I'm doing this correctly..."

Have a nice weekend!
