Fifth Release v5.0 2-8-2008

This is a quick update of the 4.0 VP table, to turn it into a VPM table, using the new Sys1 emulation.
You need the 1.58 version of VPM and the latest VBS files.

Now that it is emulated, I will eventually get around to a graphics update. There are a lot of sloppy aligned reels on this one, as it was made before I figured out how to do it properly.

It's cool to see some of your early works!

One thing, I got a syntax error in line 2099. It reads...

CODE
Sub Trigger3_Hit()      SetDisplay End Sub

Seemed fine to me, so I just hit return after each command...

CODE
Sub Trigger3_Hit()
SetDisplay
End Sub

....and it worked fine.

So, if anyone else has this issue, there's your fix.

I can almost swear that that table layout is from an earlier commercial pin, but I can't recall what. I remember playing it years before Close Encounters ever was a movie, but yours looks great, looking forward to the redo!

VP's script editor will mess up the code sometimes, leaving out the returns (enter).

Did you change the the script as Noah did? (from one line to three lines) ...and then save again.

That should fix it.

I put the fix in and launched the table, but enter doesn't pull the plunger, so I can't launch the ball.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Cheers.

I think you can pull it with "Down" key, (and push back with "Up" key).
You can release it with the Enter key.

I'm still  here!

Are you running this table in VP9 or VP8? this table should be run using VP8.

I have one problem, when the table starts up the playfield looks fine,
as soon as the intro sound is done playing and the lights come on
4 or 5 black lines appear on the playfield, like maybe some graphics are
just a bit out of place??

I am using Windows XP, Visual Pinball 8.1.1 (also happens with VP 9.1.2)
with Visual PinMAME 2.3

They arent really out of place for the resolution that I originally made that game at. It was a long time go (one of my first VP games).
I think it was done at 1024 x 768. Anyway, in those days I was setting the width,height,x, and y of the reels by hand, and it wasnt so accurate.

Just put the black lines down to it being a very early attempt by me using em reels for animation.

Maybe sometime if I get time (still WAY to busy with real life), I'll be able to update that table using my more "modern" techniques.
