What table will your team recreate?

I'm easy. I notice that every table I remember has already been recreated though.
Should we go for http://www.ipdb.org/...ine.cgi?id=3584 just be different.

I'm easy too. I have a lot of good memories playing 8 ball deluxe and know that table pretty well. I think there's already pretty good versions though. I'll go with whatever the consensus is. If there is a table that hasn't been done yet, that would make the most sense to me.

Maybe another option could be is make an original that is a tribute to the 80s instead?

For learning, I think it would be better to be able to focus on a table already in existence. That way we'll have something to compare it to so we know we got it done correctly. My opinion anyway.

Other tables I like and played a lot, Silverball Mania, Playboy, Space Invaders, Firepower, Black Knight.

High res playfield, plastics, drop targets, playfield signs, ramp decals, seafood wheel 360 rotation, backglass animation, apron, and a blueprint to build from. I also have the plastics and playfield in high res that match up to the blueprint already.

That sounds like an alright place to start. We should come to an agreement on what the next project would be to work on, as most of the artwork is finished already for badcats. Are we strictly going forward with VP9 or VP8? I am swamped for a few weeks as I am in my last semester of college, but will have lots of time after about a month once finals are over with. Just so you are all aware, if it is a problem let me know.

Thanks
Rich

Unless there are objections, Bad cats it is then.
Thanks Uncle willy for the offer. Could you please zip and upload those files so we can all have a copy? Thanks.

Once we have the files I guess its up to our mentor to tell us what to do next.

I'll upload the complete pack of resources I have, some are ones I created and some are from jp and black. it's a lot of images. I started a wip of the table but I'll put it on the backburner for now to see how you guys handle the table.
I probably won't have it up till tomorrow, but I'll post a link here fir the download.

Hey UncleWilly,

So the artwork is all ready for Bad Cats and nothing needs to be done? If that is the case, I would rather do another table since my primary focus is artwork. If artwork is already taken care of, I don't have much to add to this project except watching everyone else do the work. Just my 2 cents.

I concur that, if everything's done, it's not much of a learning experience.

Scapino (Kurt) has made a timely video tutorial that applies well to what we are about to embark on.
Its should be mandatroy viewing for all the 70s, 80s, and 90s groups.
Its 109 meg but you need it.

Thanks for the link...watching it now. As far as choice of table, my vote would be a Williams System 11( A,B ). Taxi is a game that comes to mind. But really, I am up for anything.

Here is a list of some pins that I thought would be good. Some I have played, some I have not (but have heard they were good and/or I liked the artwork). The one thing about doing the 80s is there is a big difference between early 80s and late 80s biggrin.gif so I guess it depends on what style you like.

Any chance we can get some input and decide what table we want to do?

I'll step in and help out, since Steve seems to be busy IRL....

Atlantis
Banzai Run
Centaur - PacDude did a great version, already.
Cyclone - LHH's version is awesome and the transparent ramps can be tricky.
Elvira and the Party Monsters - A couple nice versions.
Fire!
Flash Gordon - Kurt's on this one...he'll do a GREAT job on it.
Laser War - A couple nice versions.
Mousin' Around
Pin•Bot - Eala's version, both VP8 and VP9 rock already.
Playboy 35th Anniversary - TAB and destruk did a great version.
Silverball Mania - PacDude did a great version, already.
Sorcerer
Space Shuttle - Emkaah did a great job on this one.
Space Station - PacDude did a great version, already.
Strange Science
Swords of Fury
Taxi - JP dd this one.
Time Machine - You must be referring to the Zaccaria version, since JP did the DE version. Not a fan of the Zaccaria table.
Transporter the Rescue

My two cents...

Thanks Noah/Paul, I elect Strange science then. http://www.ipdb.org/...2396&picno=2283
There seems to be loads to work from, and I like the look of it too.
Since our guru hasnt made an appearance, I think we need to start anyway.
Going off Kurts tutorial as a guide, we should each have a crack at recreating the backglass. Mainly because it looks easyish, and we can get into the table once we become better at PS or equivelent.
How about we each upload our attempts at the backglass, and we can vote on the best one to use.
Anyway I'm going to do this while we are waiting for the guru. Its up to you guys if you prefer to wait.
