Hi Guys, I tried to (manually) update to VPX 10.8 and vPinMame 3.6. I reverted all my actions by overwriting it with my backup.

 

Now FlexDMD (I guess) doesn't work anymore: "no external dmd driver found". I tried to re-register all issues in FlexDMDGUI and that ticks out. I also reinstalled several other versions, but no luck. 

 

The strange thing is, if I run the FlexDMD example table from the VpinMame directory it works (and every other table for that matter), but if I run any table from my tables directory I get the error "no external dmd driver found". Weird.

 

It gets even more weird; when I run FlexDMD example table (from my tables directory) first and don't close VPX, FlexDMD works.... until I close VPX and start a new table.

 

Is this a path related thing? Or registry thing? I'm out of clues....

 

There's definitely something wrong with the "external DLL" since if I turn off "use external DLL" in VPMame, the DMD shows, but without my settings....

no external DMD driver found means in your dmddevice.ini you have the lines for turning on one or more external REAL dmd panels enabled
like pinDMD v3 etc

 

If you do not have those, make sure to set them all to not be enabled.

Same exact issue.  I upped to 10.8 and 3.7 beta and now all I get is "No external DMD driver found or DMD driver functions not found."

I kinda solved it yes.

 

I re-installed VPX 10.7 and MAME. I took the separate install packages from Nailbusters website. 

 

After that, it worked again.

 

Make sure you have your INI files backed up, other wise you're whole configuration becomes undone.
