File Name: Mago de Oz - the pinball

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 06 Apr 2021

File Category: VPX Originals

Author(s): jpsalas
Permission to MOD?: No

The table is based on the graphics and music of the Spanish folk rock group Mägo de Oz.
Special thanks go to Enomao who suggested a table about Mägo de OZ and also because he contacted Mägo de Oz who kindly supplied nice resolution images of their cd covers, which I used to made all the graphics.
This VPX table is inspired on the layout and rules of Archer & Stern’s Iron Maiden tables.

This table needs the latest VPX 10.7, which you can get from here: VPX7beta

Read the included manual for more info about the table and it's rules.

I have included some images in the Extras zip, including a very basic db2s.

These are my tables, sorted by date, all them playable with VPX 7 or newer:

After 18 years making tables, it is time to take a rest and let new authors do their thing.

I guess at last I'll play some more pinball :). But I'm sure I'll make some table updates from time to time :)

Thanks, JP, the table looks great !

And it seems there's a bit of "Iron Maiden" in this one !

I never heard about the band "Mägo de Oz" before, perhaps because they sing in Spanish

They made 15 albums and the first one is from 1994

I listened to some songs from the album "Ilussia", and it sounds as much Metal than Folk, in my opinion :)

So, thanks for this table, and also for telling us about this band

JP, I've a problem with pinball sounds, bumpers, flippers and so on...

Sure it's something I don't understand

Perhaps it's because music is too loud, is there a way to pump down music volume ?

If you don't use the latest VPX 10.7, this is revirsion 127, then the music will be very loud. Better go to  https://github.com/v...7.0-127-c9c069f and download it.

Other wise you'll need to lower the music volume a lot :) There is a variable at the top of the script Const SongVolume = 0.5  just change it to Const SongVolume = 0.0065, but I really recommend to download the latest revision, 127 :)

With the latest vpx 10.7.0 rev127 the b2s server does not start and the b2s does not display. Everything works with the rev111.

Edit: Sorry, the error came from me, I was using the 64bit version of vpx ... all works with the 32bit version.

Hi JP,

Great table, but how do you get the back glass working with the 64 bit 10.7 rev 127.

Cheers,

Nursie

Backglass program is only 32 bits, so it doesn't work. Use the 32 bit version.

Hi JP,

Cheers,

Nursie

You have 3 choices

1) compile a 64bit version of B2S Server

2) Do what JP says and use the 32 bit

3) Set the backglass image as a static background for your front end to play

Thanks wiesshund,

I went with Option 2. Not being competent in programming, I'll wait until someone much more skilled than I to to compile a 64bit  B2S server.

Cheers,

Nursie

PS. Hope you had a good Easter break.

Thalamus already did

Look in the 10.7 alt sound thread

WARNING
make backup copies of the corresponding 32bit B2S files, before copying the 64bit ones in

after copying them in, be sure to run the reg app as admin, to register the new DLL

If you dont like it, copy the 32bit files back, and register it again

This is all 64bit vpx/pinmame/b2s
