Hello,

I am building a pincab with 4k 120hz and solid gamer PC configuration including z RTX 4070Ti.

Tables run smoothly as expected and FPS keeps at 120 but the balls become very transparent at full speed which make them hard to follow: see attached capture on AFM table.

I played with the different graphic settings like ball trails or réflexions but it does not really fix the problem.

Does anyone know how to improve this?

Thanks!

Is this image from a video? And if yes, at how many FPS was it recorded?

It is actually a picture from my smartphone.

The VPX was running at about 120 fps using the new 'low latency' mode from the latest 10.8 beta

If I take screenshots using pc utilities like the NVidia game experience capture tools, I don't see any transparency nor ball duplication so I suppose the only logical reason is the response time of the screen itself... I am using a iiyama monitor with a VA pane of 0.4s MPRT response time & freesync enabled so I was not expecting this type of pb....

Shall I just go with a quite opacified ball trail enabled in VPX or do anyone see some better way to deal with this?
(eg. changing default ball texture or playing with other options?)

try directX build and see if same results

you only need the EXE file from the directX zip

Hello,
disabling the HDR from the screen had some positive effect on the issue. It is still not as sharp as I would imagine it could be though.

The DirectX build provides similar rendering now that the HDR is disabled. I'll try to play again with more settings.

Still interested if other have advises on the optimal settings for 4k 120hz + mid ranges NVidia GPU (4070Ti).

I just use the default monitor settings and default nvidia settings.
I have a rtx 3080 with 165mhz. Ball is running butter smooth. Never see transparancy. I have a nvidia sync monitor, but asume you enabled that as well (monitor and driver)

Any news on your problem ? I also got a 4k 120hz and fast ball seem to disappear a bit either. Input lag is very low (0.1) 120hz, 116 fps (put max in Nvidia) gsync on. I would like the ball to be much clearer

Did you try to set vpx to Frame Spacing instead of VSync?
