Yep. Thanks for testing (that's why it's still WIP). I believe the latest update should work. It now takes some additional installation steps. I forgot to mention the fact that I created some additional fonts that needed to be installed into the XDMD Fonts folder (I am fixing that as well).
So, thanks again for the testing and feedback.

Does UltraDMD run on XP? My cab has Windows XP as the OS and as soon as I start UltraDMD it crashes. I ran RegAsm using the .Net 4 framework.
The XDMD Demo runs through the first two scenes and crashes because I don't have a codec for the mp4. Would installing a suitable codec make UltraDMD work ok? (I'd be surprised that is the issue on starting it up, but thought I'd ask)
Is UltraDMD.exe compiled for 64bit? Mine isn't and that would be a problem for me.
Thanks!

Yeah, from reading the posts I knew that the video would be a problem I intend to skip that. I'm just having trouble starting UltraDMD for the very first time. I need to run it once to configure it so that I can start to use it in my table at all. I must be missing something. Probably something obvious too.
Thanks for the super fast reply too!

Windows XP does NOT come with .Net. So you DO need to install .Net 2.0. That's not in the installation instructions.
I just tried UtlraDMD on Windows XP (actually an XP virtual machine with .Net 2.0 already installed). It seem to work fine.
The installation process is far from automated, and it may not be as instructive as it should be.
XDMD comes with a bunch of source as well as binary files. What you really need is the "XDMD\XDMD Demo\bin\Release\" folder. Unzip it and place the files in the Release folder anywhere you want (say "C:\XDMD"). The replacement XDMD.dll needs to go there, and UltraDMD.exe needs to go there as well. The additional fonts zip file contains a "Fonts" folder. This "Fonts" folder should replace the one at "C:\XDMD\Fonts".
Here is my list of files:

Woohoo! I found my issue, and there were two mistakes I made. Hopefully this will help someone else.
First I used .Net 4 for the regasm.
The second issue was I used the older version of the UltraDMD.exe. The link on the installation page points to the first version, the downloads page has the link to the newest version. My fault for not being more careful in my excitement to try this out.
Thanks for your support!!!

New update. Tom incorporated the changes to XDMD. The new UltraDMD takes advantage of those changes. You no longer need my private XDMD.dll. This update also eliminates the need for the Fonts folder. Because of this, the installation is now easier (by two steps). See the web site for details.
BTW, Look for an announcement coming soon. I am excited.
