Ok I remembered I had also run the pinproc-0.91.win32-py2.6.exe file and I notice it wasn't in your new instructions so I started over and the EventTypeBurstSwitchOpen is working again so I'll continue on and report back.

Deleted P-ROC and Python26 (not MinGW).

Downloaded the file in step 1.2 (I'm pretty sure I already had it, but just in case); ran that installer, got a TOTALLY different install screen with colored text (in the command prompt), hadn't seen that before, so you're ProcToolsBeta2 might be different that the one I had (with the same name).

Tried Step 5 but ran into the win32com error.

Installed pywin32-219 from my previoius post

Step 5 successful

Go to run the table and get the follow (new!! how exciting):

---------------------------
VBScript
---------------------------
Unexpected Python Error: Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "C:\Python26\lib\site-packages\win32com\server\policy.py", line 324, in _InvokeEx_
    return self._invokeex_(dispid, lcid, wFlags, args, kwargs, serviceProvider)
  File "C:\Python26\lib\site-packages\win32com\server\policy.py", line 585, in _invokeex_
    return func(*args)
  File "C:\P-ROC\tools\register_vpcom.py", line 171, in Run
    vp_game_map = yaml.load(open(vp_game_map_file, 'r'))
IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/.'

Re-Ran ProcToolsBeta2 as admin (though I shouldn't have to).  Still didn't work

Ran VP_Physmod5 as admin (though I shouldn't have to).   Still didn't work

Ok cool I just got the table to play.  The DMD animations are pretty cool.  I'll try to see if I can remove the frame like you mention.  I am getting a bonk sound like when a windows error dialog pops up right before the table launches but when I try to alt-tab I can't find a window so it must be disappearing.  I think it's something else from the AHK script causing it because I don't get it if I go back into the table by just hitting play in VP.

Ok thanks...and Shoopity I looked at what you said you did and I think one thing you did different is you removed Python26.  I only deleted the P-ROC directory so I'm thinking maybe you need that other Python exe you linked to me earlier because that's what got me past the win32com error.

I just did another install, just removing P-ROC and I GOT THE TABLE TO RUN!!!

I'm on a single screen, and not using AHK, I can't get the DMD to stay on top.  Is there an option I can put in the config.yaml?

Ok I got it working in PinballX also just by copying over everything and changing the one pathname.  I got take off for a bit so I'll get back to it later.

OK, what kind of feedback are you looking for.  You want every little issue/suggestion I can throw?  I know that can be discouraging depending on what stage of development you're at; for example when I was trying to make a stage in Little Big Planet once, I had my older brother do some testing for me.  I was looking more for "this is a great idea, keep at it," or, "what if you did this over there," type of feedback, but he was giving me, "Hey, I broke this over here," and, "this lever doesn't do anything."  I knew it was broke, I knew that lever didn't do anything, but at the stage I was at I wasn't even sure if I should put the effort into doing better.

So with your table I could mention things like I'm a little lost with what to do since there's little indication on the board (e.g. the lights don't have any labels; it took multiple plays to realize I had hit the gun targets in a specific order), or that I think the light show is a bit much (the difference between lit and dark is a little jarring and too drastic in my opinion, especially if you're going to be having everything strobing like you do sometimes).  But if that's not what you're looking for at this stage, let me know.  If I should look at this more like a whitewood stage of the game, then I won't worry about such things; I'll focus on shots, if the table feels fun, etc.  Or I'll just list bugs like "I hit this switch and not a thing happened."  (which may not be a bug, it may just be the rules).

If you need someone to help with graphics, I'll do my best.  I've said before, I'm good enough to fool someone who doesn't know much about art into thinking I'm good, but you'll see my work is pretty shoddy.  If you want someone just to do the work of VP coding or something (something you may be perfectly capable of, but just don't have time to do that actual work), I might be able to help with that.

I will say I'm having issues with VP crashing frequently.  I don't know if that's because it's the physmod version which may have lots of bugs, or if it's because VP isn't playing well with P-ROC.

Hi Dave,

If you're still making changes to the pyprocgame hdDMD framework, could you invite me to your gitlab account?  I'd like to pull some of your changes back into the main repository.

Thanks.

Good table and good games (especially the last, the most recent).

Good idea a coloured DMD :otvclap:

That looks amazing chepas, seems like a great layout and ball-flow, and that custom DMD is sweet. As a huge Evil Dead fan I'm really looking forward to playing it. :)

There are some awesome projects currently in status WIP. Hope to see this one finalized one day. Next to the DMD that looks amazing I really like the sound effects. Seems like a challenging table with good physics.
