I think you guys with ball issues are missing some VBS scripts or they're in the wrong folder, specifically core.vbs and b2b.vbs. Re-run the VPX all in one installer, or go grab the core.vbs and b2b.vbs script from the zip download for the latest vpx and try that in your vp/scripts folder your

you got any scripts at all in the table folder?
If so, pull them all out and retry.
Issue is something in your setup, both the table and the rom are good/working

Sorry :( It can definitely be frustrating. I've been doing this for .... I don't know. 8 years, and I still run into issues I can't solve. There's so many components installed, created by so many different people, running so many different ways, it's a miracle anything works at all

Hi all.... I have the same issues... ("LINE 216 NULL")...

I can run the JP Avengers (with 170h ROM)

I can run a very old version from Avengers LE (rascalV2) with the avs_170c ROM.

But I can´t solve the problem for "Bigus MOD"... (avs_170)....

I also tried to change the ROM names, but no success....

Any ideas???  THX a lot  :juggle:

SpBall(0).vely = -0.01

  SpBall(1).vely = -0.01

  SpBall(0).velx = 0

  SpBall(1).velx = 0

  SpBall(0).velz = 0.01

  SpBall(1).velz = 0.01

  SpBall(0).z = 25 'sPostRadius

  SpBall(1).z = 25 'sPostRadius

error

Idea?

Hello,

I've got the same problem. So... if anyone 's got a clue...

there is a Script error message saying

Runtime error

-------------------

Line: 216

Description unavailable.

I've checked all scripts vbs. No change.

Problem has occured when I upgraded from VP10.6 to VP10.7.

Help is welcome :) Thanks

You update to 10.7 like this
Simply copy all of the files in the ZIP into your already existing Visual Pinball directory. Overwrite already existing files there when asked. If you already had the core.vbs script package in your 'Tables' sub-directory previously, either delete these, or move all files contained in the 'Scripts' sub-directory to 'Tables'.

thx Outhere for your answer.

I tried all you said : downloading table version 1.3, new "rom color" checked, all vbs files copied from "Scripts" folder to "Table" folder...

and.... problem is the same, I'm devasted.

UP FOR HELP :)

Why is this "description unavailable" while variable SPball(1) is well dimensionned in the begining of the script with the line

Dim SPball(1), blablabla...

i was having the same issue with the script error and here is what i did to get it working:

  • remove the color rom (avs_170c)
  • delete the files from nvram (avs_170.nv and avs_170c.nv)
  • run the table

this worked for me, ymmv - hope it helps!

EDIT: well, it worked for a time, then it started up again. still, give it a shot, maybe it will work for you...

One way to fix the error is to rename SpBall with another name, like for example RotatingCubeBall

So use CTRL H and replace that name. Maybe the variable name spball has been used internally in 10.7, I don't know.

PS: Forget it. It worked fine for a few games, and then it gave me the same error.

These are my tables, sorted by date, all them playable with VPX 7 or newer:

vp.jpg

After 18 years making tables, it is time to take a rest and let new authors do their thing.

I guess at last I'll play some more pinball :). But I'm sure I'll make some table updates from time to time :)

This was driving me crazy.  The solution was simple.  Turn off "texture compression" in VPX.

Hello, i have the same error in script on row 218. My VPX config has the option "Texture Compression" turned off and still the error happens. Any ideas or solution?

I found a solution! I decide to do some test in the script and in the first test it worked.

i just changed the order of 2 rows.

Original Code:

  SpBall(0).vely = -0.01
  SpBall(1).vely = -0.01
  SpBall(0).velx = 0
  SpBall(1).velx = 0

New Code:

  SpBall(0).velx = 0
  SpBall(1).velx = 0
  SpBall(0).vely = -0.01
  SpBall(1).vely = -0.01
