This table is something amazing.  Flupper and the gang have really outdone themselves here.  i really can't say enough about how this table looks and plays. You will see for yourselves that it is a work of art.  3rdAxis and Leojreimroc and I put this VR room together for it, and it will be released as a hybrid.  (I hear VERY soon)  :)

Looks amazing in VR.   So, if there a guide for how to setup VPX for VR? ie. what are the hardware requirements? I seem to have "missed the boat" on this VR VPX stuff but it does look amazing!

The largest community I know of for VPX VR is on Facebook in a dedicated group.  1,600 members or so in that group discussing mostly just VPXVR and a little bit of Future Pinball VR.  There is a guide as well below.   And yes, this table looks and plays awesome in VR!

If you get an Oculus Quest 2 and a GTX 1080 or higher.....Here is a tutorial https://docs.google....#h.766pdekwexux, it has some old links but just skip past those to the settings and everything else is good. Get your VPVR files here https://1drv.ms/u/s!Auy58evaF4z1qnKWFn1LvbB2Q4X6?e=1mmolz thanks to Rob. Here is another tutorial just start at 2 mins 30 secs. Note, I leave "Scale Table to Width" unchecked. You will still need to press "0, 2, 8 and 5" on your number pad on your keyboard anyway to set the table where you want.

I am having issues copying links but you should be able to figure it out :) Yes it is awesome in VR

Short version is, install your Oculus Software, Baller and then the VPVR files, install opencomposite (don't miss a step here) adjust your settings and you should be good to go. I would also start off "without" the VR launcher by Basti until you have VR tables working and I'd use Oculus Link to eliminate any wireless issues. Make sure you start your Oculus software, look in the headset and connect with link before you try to open a table. Some settings are different for VPX and VPVR and changing them back and forth could be a pain, if you want .bat files (from Scampa123) that do this for you let me know. These settings include ball stretch (don't stretch the ball for VR and cabinet anti-stretch the ball for VPX), max texture dimension (3072 for VR and usually unlimited for VPX), FS Backdrop (untick for VR and tick for VPX) and Force Exclusive Full screen (turn off for VR and enable for VPX)... Good luck.... Also, if you are a PinUP Popper user there is now Popper VR found here https://vpuniverse.c...-released-beta/ it makes transitioning between VPX an VR super easy and changes the settings for you.

Hi Flupper.

Great table, really have been enjoying it, probably a little too much with how many games i've played already.

Wanted to alert you to two issues I have found.

1. When you shoot the inlane, there are times were the ball jumps off the table or gets stuck somewhere and is gone.   (has happened a few times now)

2. sometimes the ball gets stuck in the cellar (Score super cellar door, the one on the right) entrance on the left corner but a not so hard nudge of the table can free it every time it has happened.

I did manage to record a video of the ball getting lost (or jumped off the table) in the inlane.    See below.  As you can see, the ball finder will shoot out the locked ball but then once that ball is lost the game is just stuck and you need to close it out and restart.

https://youtu.be/grlL_5R82GE

EDIT:  Just wanted to mention I have well over 200 plays on this already and these issue only happened a few times so it is somewhat rare.

Thanks for bringing these issues to light! 3 questions in order to investigate:
1. Do you have an analog nudge? If have seen drifting analog nudges do strange things.
2. Just to be sure, but are you playing a completely unmodified table? No changes done to flippers, physics values and such? Or did you perhaps change the wrong height axis when changing your POV?
3. Did you hear a ball rolling sound directly after issue 1?
Just wanting to rule out some things because neither Rik, the VPW crew or me have seen either of these issues.

Hi

1. I do have analog nudge. For the ball issue in the video I have only seen it 3 times total after most likely many thousands of inlane loops, I think what happens is the ball gets hit around the inlane really hard and then it goes around past the spinner and then hit again hard with the upper right filpper back into the inlane when the ball already had all that speed. Could be possible that this happening and a combination of analog nudge at the right time causing the issue.   I'll disable my analog nudge for the next 50 games or so to try and find out though :)   (Since you released this table I have not played any other tables so i'll keep "testing") lol

2. The only modifications I have made on the table are for the audio files and audio levels settings in the script. No changes to physics, flippers, POV or anything else.

3. The issue where the ball gets stuck on the cellar door can be nudged off pretty easily and does not really cause any major issue so probably not worth looking into it too much. Real tables get balls stuck more often than this anyway and this one is super rare and easy to nudge off .  I don't think the ball rolling sound was stuck on but I don't have that one on video to confirm and I do have the ball rolling sounds tuned pretty low volume and the rom audio pretty loud.   If it happens again, I'll turn off the amp for the ROM audio and listen for it.

One more thing which should be an easy one to fix!.  Unless I'm not understanding the gameplay correctly, I think I did find one other issue / bug.  For the lights below the backglass, I think the lights for "Score 500k" and  "Light Quick Multiball" are reversed.    (talking about in VR if that makes a difference)

When the light is flashing for Quick multiball and you shoot the lit score super cellar door you get awarded  "score 500k" instead and when Score 500k is lit you get awarded  "Light quick multiball" when shooting the lit score super cellar door.  All of the other ones award you the award that is flashing.

Start video and 0:37 for reference of correct multiball lit lite and shooting super score cellar door.

Below is a video of the issue in comparison in VPXVR

Yes, good find, is already fixed in the release candidate
And about your ball disappearance: Rothbauerw has already proposed a fix, will include that. The ball seems to fly of the ramp, so we add an invisible roof to the ramp.

I uploaded version 1.1 of Whirlwind with a lot of fixes and even some additions:

biggest additions:
- Fleep: Added PlayfieldRollVolumeDial and RamopsRollVolumeDial to allow playfield and ramps rolling sound volume in global sound options
- leojreimroc: new VR backglass, thanks to new image provided by Sheltemke
- Flupper: new LUT text display, which is also visible in VR
- Flupper: easter egg added, rolling text starts after 30 seconds
- Flupper: added "making off" PDF, which is essentially the same as my posts in this WIP thread

Lot's of fixes:
- Fleep: Reworked flipper coil logic to have more dynamic loudness and added new dampened flipper up sounds that engaged if there are nearby ball(s)
- Fleep: Left and Right orbit lanes ball roll sound volume readjusted
- Fleep: Left and Right Cellars enter sound loudness is now dynamic and depend on ball velocity
- Fleep: Readjusted ramp lifter/down coils loudness
- Fleep: 1 Bank and 3 Bank Drop Target coil release samples reprocessed
- Fleep: Added additional sounds for Inner Lane Ball Guide Hits and readjust loudness
- Fleep: Plastic Ramps rolling and enter loudness calibration
- Fleep: AC Solenoid loudness readjusted
- Fleep: Other minor sound script changes
- Fleep: Reprocessed and repositioned locking kicker sounds
- Fleep: Reprocessed plunger pull sound to correlate with the actual plunger speed
- Fleep: Plunger pull sound now stops when plugner released
- Rothbauerw: Adjusted plunger release speed to 86, it does make it around the loop occasionally.
- Rothbauerw: Adjusted Wall001 to feed the loop more smoothly on plunge
- Rothbauerw: Check to see if all three balls are in trough before running credits.  Resets if all three balls are not in trough.
- Rothbauerw: Reset credits when SolRelease is fired or ball is drained
- Rothbauerw: Staged flippers added with a script option
- Rothbauerw: added ramp ceiling on upper ramp to prevent ball loss
- Rawd fixed a misalignment of the VR walls
- Flupper: doubled droptarget drop and release speed, in sync with the sounds
- Flupper: Fixed missing screws
- Flupper: Fixed depth bias issues in the bottom right flasher dome
- Flupper: Fixed colored dots on the bumper tops in VR
- Flupper: Screen space reflect set default to off for better performance (in table options)
- Flupper: Fixed 2 mixed up backglass lights (500k and quick multiball) in VR
- Flupper: Better suggested VR settings in the second settings screenshot

Awesome update guys. Really happy to see the invisible ramp ceiling made it to this update so soon!

Also, can't thank you guys enough for the dual contact "Staged" flippers support.   This is one of those tables that really needs it to play multi-ball properly and I highly recommend more people think about adding dual contact leaf switches to their cabinets as more tables have built in support for them!

After all, pinball only has flippers and nudging as controls so in my opinion it's super important to have flippers that work as intended.  :)

Not even if you pay me to do it

I can run multiple sets of flippers fine with the magnasave buttons

cant do diddle squat when they are on the same darned button and even if i figure out where the happy spot is that engages flipper 2, i cant do flipper 2 without doing flipper 1

plus the happy spot is just going to get mashed, constantly and the end result is going to be like that was only 1 switch to begin with.

I'll stick with 4 flipper buttons and retain my sanity

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i dont have any way to receive it anyways

If you really want to get rid of money you can donate to this

I am also horrible at trying to use them properly, my brain isn't wired that way lol.   BUT..  using the magnasave is quite the cheat (which is fine if you're comfortable with that) :)

Thanks for the great update Flupper and Fleep and Roth and Team!  Very nice new VR backglass leojreimroc and Sheltemke!
