Initial announcement from Jeff:

This is the EM version based off Goldchicco & JPSalas' Bow And Arrow table.
Special Thanks to :
Goldchicco for allowing me to create the EM version of this one
JP Salas for the vp9 table used as base for create this one in VPX
@Arestis for redrawing  the plastics.
@Thalamus for the Playfield mesh
@batch for the backdrop image for Desktop users (modified to be EM appropriate)
EM DirectB2S image thanks to Wildman.
I did my best to keep all the goodies Goldchicco has in the SS version:
' Fleep sound package
' Table physics (using nfozzy/roth/fleep guidline)
'  nFozzy flippers physics
' JP's LUT code

hopefully I didn't break any of those things when I shoehorned my EM code base into this.

My view on Bow and Arrow: This game was the last table Jeff donated us before he passed away. We will never forget his life work for pinball recreation.

Here I offer you my version 1.0c with these changes:

Playfield

- the physic were so perfectly balanced, I saw no need for any change
- new flipper geometry, more Bally- like
- many new sounds e.g. light- motor, at kicker holes, gate clicks, at drain
- tilt function corrected, now all lights on playfield are switched off
- right bottom side lane "Special"-light assignment corrected
- animated spinner rods plus protective mini posts plus "holes" in playfield added
- spinner light lines are now reset after each ball and tilt
- improved ball and ball position in the plunger lane
- new timing for ball release - now after bonus count ends and 1/3 turn of the score motor
- new POV for cab use
- after switch on and in game over state the plastics illumination stays on (the original behavior of all Bally EMs)

Backglass

- new aspect ration for the score reels - more Bally- like
- rolling score reels
- snippits for the game name avoids overexposure at color edges
- supplemented blinking effect for the game name
- 8 snippits for an improved player up - and score reel - indication / illumination
- score memory: when you leave the table and reload it the score of the previous use will be indicated
-> attention: I changed the nv ram concept in order to implement this functionality, if you have still a nv ram in the user- folder delete it or replace it with the nv ram you find in the zip file (it is the BowAndArrowEM_74VPX.txt), otherwise the table will crash when loading the 1st time.

- no click sounds from the BG anymore, no interference between BG and game sounds
-> thanks to Jarr3 for his sound removal tool for BGs

- ZIP contains game, BG file, nv ram (BowAndArrowEM_74VPX.txt), BG- and PF- pics for cab users

All this in kind tribute to Jeff Whitehead.

Table is constantly throwing errors and crashing even on first load up. if i tilt the table it crashes. Also, why is there a constant machine running sound? The table doesn't appear to have any toys running, targets moving etc.

No issues for me works perfectly. Using latest VPX 10.8.1, plus these old EM machines used to hum so makes it more authentic :-)

I added the light- motor sound, the light- motor was a typical feature of many Bally and Williams games. It was in use to move the lights under the center kicker hole and under the center target.

GordonJames, you can always lower the hum sound in sound manager if one wishes.

Great work.

.

Very good job. Thank you very much.

Very good job. I love playing this table. Have you ever considerated working on Gottlieb's Sky Jumb and William's OXO?

Really? LOL... ok I call BS... Why do i hear dead silence on this table when it's running during a game then? You hear absolutely nothing as that ball is rolling around on the play field and not hitting targets. Zip. Nada.

and again, complete silence during game play. Nothing. Zip. Nada.  Also Simbamame, the reason i post about things not working on my end is because everyone else's systems are different and no other table i have out of 500 crashes like this. So the info is valuable for the table author to have since some other members might be having the same issue. If it's ok on your end that doesn't zero out or negate the issues i'm having on my end. I'm having issues with this table and i'll post about it ok. Ok.

@Mustang1961, while i really appreciate the sounds being more authentic in these tables and it literally accounts for 50% of the believe ability of VP, i think you could have added a hundred other sounds that the table actually makes during game play instead of one it doesn't. That's just my one opinion though. So take it for all that accounts for. I don't think it was necessary or accurate and sounds silly to me when someone claims it's accurate. But obviously it's your table and you do as you please and thanks for sharing.
