Anyone has a good solution to mount the kinect v2 50cm above tge backglass ?
Mshaker used a bracket, but added some own stuff to it.
Any help will be appreciated

Duct tape?

And tape it to the ceiling??if duct tape could make it 50cm above my backbox, I will use it

Yeah, I was searching for a bracket that would fits a bit, but think I go for MShaker his bracket and adjust to get it mounted on the cab and the Kinect as well

too bad I wasn't able to buy anything from AliExpress anymore.
But after a long search I found this bracket on Temu.com

it was just 5 euro's including shipping.
It just fits between my backbox and my ceiling

the kinect can see the screen and my head movement.
X, Y and Z-axis are working, but x-axis is a bit to sensitive and giving me a bit of illness when playing too long

I have problems with 2.0 version SDK.

The kinect was not recognized in windows 11 (device manager: XboxNUIMotor)

Try to updating the driver doesn`t work, you have to downgrade

Xbox 360 Kinect & Windows 10 (pangodream.es)

1.8 SDK driver works great for me

After a few driver updates I got it running in future pinball and in VPX. My issue is that when I clicked "use head tracking" in vpinball_GL.exe it also seems to turn head tracking in normal vpinball.exe. Normal vpinball.exe it will not load the table because bam head-tracker.exe is not running, so it just sits at a black screen. When i turn off head tracking in normal vpinball, it works normaly again, but now vpinball_GL has tracking turned off too.  Has anyone come across this?

You select Bam headtracking in VPX editor video preferences and all your vpx emulators will have bam headtracking selected.

If you have bam headtracking selected you need to activate your camera, otherwise you will se a black screen when launch the table

I figured that part out and got the head tracking working. I was having trouble launching the table in normal vpx (no head tracking) after the headtracking was working -black table like you said.  I want to be able to choose head tracking or normal mode.

I just found the answer on an other site a few hours ago.  VPX 10.8 saves the preferences data in your windows/user/app data/VPinballX\VPinballX.ini file. To have both normal mode and an alt launch mode using head tracking, you need 2 different .ini files and then have vpx use one of them and vpx_GL use the other .ini.

I would post the link to the how to, but I don't know if I'm allowed to link to an other site.  If anyone knows if it's ok to post the link, let me know.  Thanks

Thanks for the excellent guides. I've got it working. Main issue in VPX and FP are that the playfield appears to swing side to side, but I think that's been mentioned above so I'll adjust the settings more. Also I'm using an interlaced LG 3d monitor, but the 3d effect is lost in VPX when head tracking is enabled (only uses one eye). Stereo 3d still works with head tracking in FP.

That's the one!  After i posted my response I looked at the user names on the other site, then noticed that it's then same name.  :)   Thanks a lot, your post explained it perfectly.  I would have never thought that vpx stores info in the appdata folder.  Mine is working because of you. Thanks again

This new feature from 10.8 differs from all previous versions, which were stored in the registry and required scripting to change when different settings were desired.
