Umm hello fellow pinheads...

Hope someone can point me in the right direction and help fellow new starter to VP. Is there a newbie guide to VR?

Started 10.8.0.2051 GL64 for 1st time, took many minutes just to start up... is this correct?

2ndly in VR mode (HTC vive), no backboard is this normal?, no pinmame display?

Can I control the table with my controllers or need to use keyboard?

The table is at 90 degree angle to where I sit (IE faces a wall), can I rotate it?

Thanks

Devvy

No backglass or DMD, make sure you are playing a table that has been "optimized" for VR (sometimes with older tables you need to go into the script and enable VR too). You can use your controllers but the only way I know of (or the easiest way) is to go through Virtual Desktop (the stand alone version) and set it up there. For the table being angled, be sure you have set the "View Mode" in VPX Video/Graphics Options to "desktop or desktop & FSS" but not cabinet. Also, when the table loads and to get it situated properly in front of you, hit the 0 (or maybe 5) 8 and 2 on your "numberpad" on your keyboard to center, raise and lower the table. I asked about this a long time ago and opened a bug but never heard back - wondering if it's an issue for anyone else. The DOF Controller options in 10.8 don't seem to affect anything for me. My DOF and SoundFX play at the same time. I can change all of the options to SoundFX and my DOF still hits. I'm on 2049 - but it's been an issue for many months and versions for me. Thanks!

I know that !  :)

With VPX7, the window opened directly wide screen, I didn't have to maximise.

It's not very important, but I just wanna know if it's possible with VPX8.

Settings are now saved in the user folder,

ini.png

but if I remember correctly window resizing doesn't work, window size isn't saved or read when opening VP.
