I found 9.9.0a in the thread. Is that a typo, or is there an aa somewhere?

aa is a typo and has been fixed.

Yup 9.9.0a was where it was reportedly fixed, but there isn't an 'official' 9.9.1 or anything, which means end users have to hunt for 9.9.0a if they are having issues.  I haven't received any specific complaints but it would be nice if an official release with the fix was what people can download, don't you think?  I'm not complaining, I'm just working for the simple man, know what I mean?  ;-)

If the need -really- comes up, i'll package something up, i have a kinda-VP9.9.1 here locally that has the fixes mukuste mentioned plus some other minor details/fixes included..

So here is an updated version that includes multiple fixes (amongst them the most mentionable the memory leak fixes and overlapping balls issue, the rest is just minor stuff).

Also included is the new (optional) nudge filter code by mjr, along with support for his new controller (see http://www.vpforums....showtopic=28313 for details).

If you guys approve (e.g. we didn't introduce any regression over the official 9.9.0), then i'll release it to the download section.

It seems better, though I do get slight ball rendering problems, vanishing and striping also some other lighting artefacts appear, this was whilst playing LOTR.

Generally I use 9.90a without any issues..on occasion I've had to replace multiple ramp based plungers with modern VP9.9 plungers though that's about it, oh and I'm a desktop player.

Hmmm, okay, could you point me to the exact version of LOTR that you are using (or does it happen on all kinds of tables for you)?

Sorry for german, but I guess Toxie understands this better when I describe the problem in our language  :)

My current VPX Tables I am working on:

And you guys are sure that this didn't happen with 9.9.0 and 9.9.0a?

Cause there is nothing from the changes i ported that should cause this (no rendering code touched), plus i tried 9.9.0 and 9.9.0a myself and get the same ball rendering issues.

I've seen that issue in 9.9.0 using png images for balls

Decal image quality also suffers in vp9.9 - artifacts.  I stopped using them, maybe these are related issues

I got the same exact problem with square ball on honey table.

The one I use from here: http://www.vpforums....s&showfile=5980

To be able to have an acceptable view of the ball but not perfect was by enabling quality FXAA and Force Anisotropic and the problem is the same with all VP9.9.X tried...I don't know if it's a problem of transparency and/or specific color to be selected for transparency but I can't get this one to look better.

The thing is that 9.9.1 is supposed to be really just a tiny update with important fixes (and the mjr nudge/plunger stuff, as this was super-easy to backport), no real new features or improvements that would change the rendering core, etc, as we are already working on the completely different VP10 rendering core..

Sorry for that, but we only have a limited amount of spare time overall.. :/

So please only test the 9.9.1 release against 9.9.0, and in theory the rendering of everything should be exactly the same..

All I have tried with VP9.9.1 works just like it did in V9.9.a or VP9.9

I agree with kruge99, it looks like an anti -aliasing error. Maybe the ball have anti-aliasing in the image, or the Antialiasing Mode is forced in the graphics card driver.
