@randr - I like what I see with your BAM kits.  I was using an Xbox360 kinect for BAM when my backbox was empty but now that I have a DMD panel and monitor mounted in the back box, the kinect isn't really workable other than having it sit on the playfield glass which is unacceptable cosmetically.  I read in one of these threads about a mounting setup consisting of holes in the DMD panel with the cams mounted behind.  Does this work ok behind the lexan cover for the DMD panel?  Any pics of how this looks installed?  Thanks!

looks good.  My setup has a lexan overlay covering the DMD panel which the cameras will be behind.  Do you suspect that would be a problem with the cams?

mine also has lexan overlay but i drilled hole for cams like speakers. through lexan... i suppose cams would work just fine behind try it and report back result

RANDR, I wanted to thank you for supplying me with the correct cams for modding! The Mod went easy and works great!

Since were talking about mounting the cams I figured Id share....

Due to my DMD being an LCD I had to space them out a bit farther and figure out a way to tilt them up and pitch them in.....Since I manufacture and use 3D printers, I decided to design a mount that snaps onto the lens - will pivot, and just heating it ever slightly above the base I was able to get the perfect angle that would just clip the lock bar - pretty neat! Now I just have to finish calibrating it - fine tuning it is going to be the trick - I was able to get it under 5 for the calibration...

Thanks! The first one I made was to be a prototype - just to get the angle - then I was going to adjust and reprint it with that angle built in. But it turned out to be robust enough so I printed another for the other cam. The beauty of this is I can print them taller or change the mounting position of the base (eg:90 degrees) for different applications. These will be hidden behind the speakerplate so they wont be seen anyhow. Ill be printing the dmd/speaker cover as well as the bezels for the monitors. REALLY handy tool!

like to see other cab setups! wish others would post more pictures of how the mounted them. You took it to another level...i need one of those printers!

Thanks! Its a really cool tool to have - Ive been into it for over 3 years now and got to the point where I have perfected my own design. It comes in REAL handy when your looking to mount something or make a bracket - and the best part - once yo have a design for something you an print as many as you want! Its just getting the first one right can be tedious! LOL Alot of the commercial ones (Makerbot, etc) are more finish than function. You pay alot for the "box" its in instead of the quality or size of the print surfaces.

In any case - Its my go-to tool now - get yourself one if you can!

Well i hadn't been reading about BAM for some time.
I did try it with one ps3 cam but i couldn't get it to work properly.
Didn't followed the topics anymore because in vp there where also some newer tables available and i like the physicsmods.
I was looking for something else when i came upon this topic and well i saw the video's and got hooked again.
I have ordered them right away from youre site Randr and can't wait to see it working on my cab.
I think i have some time now to find out all stuff about it.
Do you know how long it probably will take to get to the netherlands ?

This will ship out on Monday so really depends on how long it sits in customs. Usually 7-10 days is normal to receive the package but have seen as long as 10-15 days just sitting in customs sometimes.
Funny you mention the great physics mod in vp and you still enjoy fp! Vp is so much better for physics but fp/bam really is a neat effect and really is worth the effort just for the visual effects.

Hey folks this is a long over due post. i received my kit from randr. It was packed well. He was very patient with me also. I decase my cameras and mounted them inside. It came out sweet. Thank You Thank You randr you are a good man and truely a blessing. one problem some folks may have is when you shut down your machine and restart and it dosent recognize the cameras. what worked for me was after you shut it down make sure you unplug it for some reason my set up does that. But in all BAM takes it to a another level. You cannot go wrong with randr's kit.

I do use FP, some of the tables are quite beautiful, especially with head tracking. I currently use a Kinect.
