I tried with a Logitech C270 HD and it works pretty well. I had some stutter though but I didn't test it with the latest version and settings, but a really funny option :)

Try last version (0.5-21) it have "anti-jittering" options.

BAM Update!

v0.5-22

- Error fix. Versions 20-21 "prefers" calibration for "Simple Cam". Now it will use points from last used "3 Point".
Shredhed : this will fix Your problems with "3 points" setup.
- Added "beta" pluglin "Simple PS3 Eye". Required CL-Eye Platform SDK. Mini install guide:
1. Uninstall EyeToy drivers.

2. Download & install (with "developer" libs):

3. Install EyeToy drivers (same as removed in step 1):

Now then You select "Simple PS3 Eye" BAM will display picture from cam.

In "Simple PS3 Eye" you can:
- Set Cam "Gain" / "Exposure" / "FPS" from BAM menu. (FPS avaible options: 20 / 30 / 58 / 60 / 75 ).

- Max Face size - To eliminate false detection of "too big faces".

- rest of options are same like "Simple Cam".

Simple PS3 Eye don't have any visible advantege over "Simple Cam".
Plugin uses "gray" image.

In case of any problems: delete "PS3Eye.dll" form BAM/plugins dir.

Thanks Rav !

3-points for wiimotes is fixed now awesome ! thank you !!  Got a eyetoy3 today.  Still playing around with it to try and get it to be as smooth as wiimote, trick seems to be getting gain and exposure right on camera.  I have big fish tank in the same room that puts off alot of light.  I think it is messing with the accuracy of the eyetoy.  The green square seems to get steadier when the tank lights go off.  Is there anyway to filter out background light like that ?

Anyway excellent update, BAM just keeps getting better and better.

Thanks Again.  Keep on BAMmin !!

p.s.

Dood when u going to port this over to VP???  Is it possible ?

You have 2 options:

1. If "fish tank face" is visible smaller or bigger than Yours face to camera, You can set "Min Face size" and "Max Face size".

2. You can put "a object" between fish tank and webcam. Not to hide whole fish tank but "spoil" face on tank.

I have many more ideas to improve BAM. I don't have even look at VP.

Not possible for VP at this time... VP has static view of the table and movement can't be rendered on real time at the moment (maybe someday if/when DX9 update is completed... )

And next... heading to local shops to find the PS3 eye-cam. Hopefully I can find one and get to try this tonight!

I guess i'm not too clear on how this whole min/max face thing works.  So if the tank is bigger than my face i should set the min/max lower ?

Blue square drawed on face in cam view have "width" & "height". Both values i call "size".

Tracked face:   Min face size < "size" < Max face size.

Setting this values eliminate object far away form cam ("small face") and too close to cam (or too big).

... and then you increase "min face size" it improves performance (but try not to eliminate "Yours face").

You should decrease Max Face size.

I've been playing a bit with BAM and the new menu.

Now that we can set the cab heigth and the distance with the glass for both the front and rear, I'm wondering what to do with the angle option..

Should we leave it to zero?

Also, I've tried the simple cam option with a logitech cam. Was working but a bit slow delay between the face and the camera move.

Then, I've tried with Eyetoy PS2 cam, but it was not recognized by BAM.

Did someone managed to have this cam working?

Cheers

"angle" is relative to display surface.

Values "Rear glass pos." and "Front glass pos." is used in "3 points" setup.

BAM in "3 Points" need to know exacly distance form the screen surface.

For Point 1 and 2 You can easy calculate it, but for Point 3 it is hard to keep same distance from screen surface if values "rear glass pos" <> "forn glass pos".

I try to make easy "3 point setup" as easy as posible.

If You enter right value in "reality" BAM will know accurate position in realation to screen surface.

If not.. there will be visible errors.

Have you installed the software and drivers for the Eye Cam? They are in post 162 up the page a bit - http://www.vpforums....=23791&p=223546

The PS3 cam works the best by a mile. I would recommend everyone ditch the webcam and try that if they have one kicking about. You can pick up a pre-owned one from Gamestop for $15 bucks.

So this is what happns if you drop your second wiimote kids, now it drains a set of batteries in 20 - 30 mins and the tracking starts to get choppy :thmbdn: .

Have a pair of eye toys on the way so its not all bad.

Yes, the PS2 drivers were installed and the cam was recongnized by the PC, but not by BAM. :(

Can anyone with a Eyetoy PS3 could post a short video so that we could compare with the Wiimote setting?

I tried BAM with the PS3 eye.   Very creative program!

Unfortunately, on my computer (phenom II @ 3.8 ghz, with a GTX460)  I get unplayable framerates when headtracking is active. Also i could not get the effect to look right (but i only spent an hour or so on messing with the config).

Just a warning to people randomly buying gear:  this apparantly needs a LOT of processing power.

But very cool!

The wiimote option doesn't need much power at all.

Wow! I just found this thread last night. Im going to give this a shot tonight. I love the effect this creates. Better than stereoscopic 3D in my opinion. I would love to try to combine the 2 though. Nvidia has the 3d vision glasses. I have a set for my projector but I might have to pick up and 3d monitor and try BAM out with 3D going at the same time.

I have the wii remotes at home and the ability to make that calibration board so I should be able to get this running. Im also going to grab a ps3 eye tonight on my way home and try that out as well,

Keep up the amazing work ravarcade! I will be sending a donation your way some time in the next few days.

Don't get your hopes up too far hargbyte, I also have a 3D vision stereoscopic setup, but so far neither FuturePinball or VisualPinball work with the nvidia 3D solution (afaik)...

Ohh, thanks for the info. I know the 3d vision stuff wont work with visual pinball due to it not actually being 3d but I was hoping the standard drivers would work for future pinball. If not thats ok Im just happy to have what ravarcade has built here. I picked up a ps3 eye at a local gaming shop near work. gonna try this out tonight
