On another note....

Figured out what went wrong with the addams family

I have made a list of the name(s) of the executable(s) that vpinmame starts. (using vpinmame)
The addams family executable (rom) is different than vpinmame has in its program.
And I need that name to translate it to an nvram.....

I can correct this by adjusting the pinemhi_leaderboard.ini
under this section
// This section is for the conversion of the pretty-romname to romname
// All the roms are included from the vpinmame 2.4 release
// There should be no need to alter the section below
[romfind]

I will post the adjusted file in this thread

Thanks for the nvram, will have a look at it and see what's going on.

Did you get 7 re-elections on ruler of the universe ?
Just to check if the program works and i've got the right byte.....

The webpage isn't quite right as it says crowned 7 times and it should only do that for MM, on AFM it should be inaugurated if the score is 1 and more than 1 it should be re-elected.
So have to look into that as well....

Thanks again...

Holy crap !!!!!!!
What a game.......
So I have to find the byte that says what it is:
Inaugurated.....1st time on hiscore list on rom
Elected............multiple times hiscores on rom
Re- elected.......multiple ruler of the universe in 1 game

Could you send me the 2 nvrams maybe i can figure out which byte contains this data...

374 martians......they've become extinct...... Worship.gif

Probably nothing!?

Please test/try another table (not TAF), as there eventually seems to be a naming error in VPM.

Thanks to you for taking part. smile.gif

Mmh? I don't know.

I just played 1 game AFM_vp91x_2.3.1 and submitted my low score (10.) and got an entry in the special highscores as well
(ruler of the universe -> crowned 0 times smile.gif ). Maybe try that table?

Your pinemhi_leaderboard.ini has to look like this, but with your own paths:

// INI-file for pinemhi leaderboard.....................made by Dna Disturber

[path]
VP9=f:\Visual Pinball\VPinball912.exe
VP8=f:\Visual Pinball\VPinball.exe
nvram=f:\Visual Pinball\Visual PinMAME\nvram\
tables=f:\Visual Pinball\Tables\PINemHi tables\

I'm sorry, I actually don't have an idea what's wrong there. Ini file looks ok so far, assuming the entries are correct.
Your VPinMAME files and subfolders are really in C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball and not in any subfolders like this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Pinball\VPM\nvram\ ? Probably, because I guess that's the structure of the installer, but I
don't really know.

Please have the patience for other replies. Help is near. smile.gif

Only thing I can think of is :

1) Are you using windows 7 or windows vista and do you have UAC turned on ?

2)Does it take longer than 1 minute to load the table ? (every time you start a game)
Because there is a check that prevents submitting a previous score and if the table isn't loaded in a minute or so , the check goes bad.....

3)The lowerpart of the ini-file is missing ?
That would be the part under [romfind] , that could cause it (long stretch I know...)

I believe so.......not quite sure tho........hahahahahaha no I'm pretty sure !!!
Yeah that one would be hard to beat....so a fresh nvram is highly recommended laugh.gif

This looks interesting, any chance you could add Unclwilly's CFTBL table (Desktop and FS) to your database with suggested nvram settings? (Or post your preferred nvram file) I couldn't find CFTBL listed there.

Best Regards,
Todd.

Sure.... CFTBL is one of my favo's as well....
Maybe on the next update...
No special nvram settings necessary , just standard settings to ensure a healthy competition...

1. I'm using windows 7 x64, and UAC is off
2. I cannot try right now to give you the exact time but I think it's less than 1 minute
3. I just didn't copy the lowest part of the ini file, as it's the same for everyone (no ?). U need me to copy/paste it here ?

All these troubles for my poor scores smile.gif

BIG THANKS to DnaDisturber for all of this---I played one game on Attack From Mars VP8 (JPG) and submitted the score and the Ruler Of The Universe score (but that was automatic, I guess), and once I finally got to the database/website, there were the scores. So, IT WORKS!

I do, however have a question, having finally caught up on a month's reading in this thread and found the database that way;
Attached File  PinmHiProb.JPG   138.15KB   13 downloads
is or was this the correct way to reach the database? I wonder what 'the problem' is; I bookmarked the hiscore site, so i can get there whenever I need to.....

Oh, yeah---I'm down as being crowned four times, but only did it once; should I have deleted or hidden my old nvram before doing this?

Now for anyone else with a sad computer; VP8 Awaits! Thanks again, DD!
