I haven't tried any of these for a while, but this one, 1907, I'm getting no bumper animation. It was just testing. I can't actually use the VP bumper object because there is not enough contrast between the post and the ring. It may actually be animating and I can't see it. I would rather have a entry box for the ring and it's bars than the skirt. It's easy to drop something in for a skirt, not so easy the moving parts of the bumper.

Also, the plunger is half way down. Again, no biggie, can't use that either.

The table is coming up behind the editor every time now.

Frame rate is better though.

Can you describe the issues with the bumpers in a bit more detail? And do you use the floating properties window?

The ring speed is very fast. I had to reduce it from 5 (default) to 0.5 (I think in one table I changed to 0.4, but it is a little bit too slow).

It's not a big problem, but I don't see a ring animation in the version that has it listed as fixed. Maybe because I did not try the version that broke it, I don't know. I have screwed around with the materials and plunger so much that I had to buy new equipment. I probably have my program so screwed up so bad that I need to erase everything and the registry.I love the program and especially the hands it is in now, but I have to tell you, materials in this form I know is the way to program applications, but I don't think it applies to programs that give the end user an editor, or is in effect nothing but an editor, or construction set, for the end user. It is complicated and the end results are never what is expected. Still I see good work done, so that is why I say it is just over my head. I don't know how to create materials and frankly, I don't see the need. If I was that inclined I would not be using a construction program, I would be making programs from scratch

Mr. & Mrs. PAC-MAN is up for adoption.

Hmmm...

Ring animation works fine for me. I just released a new version of Buck Rogers with bumper settings aligned among the new rev. Are you sure you adjusted the height to the absolute height in VP units?

I did not change the height. I don't know what the height is, but I know I dropped the bottom below the playfield because the default looks like it is setting above the holes instead of seated. I think I scaled it too because the top was popping through the cap I used. I'll try adding a new bumper and see what the new perimeters are like.

A new bumper animates, but is way too fast at default speeds. I still could not use it, because I need a shaft that is the same color as the ring is and it makes the ring almost invisible in front, and I would still need to set it the way I have the ones now because as high as the skirt is, there should not be that much if any of the mounting pegs sticking up above that. Modern pins usually have bumpers hidden pretty much, but these older tables have the pops displayed prominently.

The properties window is docked to the side

So, about the bumpers...

The high default speed was already reported 4 threads ago, together with a recommendation for a good value. I want to help you, but don't understand the problem with the new bumper. Is the color the problem or the height?

If you want the properties window not fixed at the side, change it in the editor preferences.

Lowering the bumper speed to 0.5 seems a good start or basic setting.

If you set the Opacity for the material you use for the Cap to 90 you should be able to see the full animation of the ring through the cap if you want to tune the speed of the ring further on.

Also found that the bumpers were blocking the left ramp on Monopoly.

Yes, I have added the hit height of the bumpers to the bug tracker, with an example to show the bug :)

I'm sure its not the "correct" way to fix it , but to make it playable i just lowered the bumper cap to 55 and it works fine.....  thanks again JP for all the awesome table!!
