Thanks!

Basically all Williams/Bally/Midway tables from Gorgar up to TZ used the chip, mostly (at least) for speech, but the more modern WPC machines also for a lot of the sound effects.

The 'work' would be to compare before and after (so the old beta (or old official release) with the new beta), and best use headphones to listen to speech samples, etc.

..seems like we found a problem with the speech chip, but testing is still much appreciated (e.g. via https://github.com/v...runs/6045863434 ). Also if speech is too silent on some machines from the mentioned game range above.

I have just tested Jokerz, since it is the table I could hear best the small pops from time to time. And the pops are gone! :D The volume of the voices are a little lower than before. But the sound is very clean without any pop noises  :otvclap:

Sorry for the late Reply. It was released around the vpx8 beta 5.  sc-3.6-586-2844469. Anyway, I just grabbed a newer release going to give that a go

PinDMDV3 noticing on acd_170hc and a couple more ROMs that the 'base' color to which acdc is RED defaults to rainbow effect on the PinDMDv3.  If I turn on the Virtual at the same time...it's correct (Red.)  I rolled the dmddevice64.dll back to 2.1 and the coloring is correct.  Something busted it in 2.2.

Hey guys. Just download the VPX Linux alone. PinMAME is in it.

Here is why. If you download the PinMAME alone and then replace the one that came with VPX. Both will crash.

Took me a while to notice what is happening.

There is a loading issue on the Black Knight 2000 (Williams 1989) w VR Room v2.0 when I tried to run it on Nobara (Fedora clone). Just crashing on loading. I haven't try out Ubuntu to see it still doing this. Most of the tables that have seem fine.

For standalone its not yet intended to replace things on one's one.

In general, standalone is considered alpha, so all kinds of stuff is a bit unfinished still.

I've seen some people have a patched color rom/altcolor file working for Batman The Dark Knight for vpx. They must be using bdk_294c.bin for the patched rom, but I can't locate the files needed to get a working color rom for this table. I have a working bdk_294.bin and it's zipped, but it's not in color.

Does it still exist and can anyone share a link to the needed files?

Thanks!

I've never actually seen it. If you have images, are you sure it was not a ColorDMD?

I never saw it beyond a few screen shots years back that someone was supposedly working on, or trying to work on.

But there are lots of rom colorizations like that where the person loses time or interest

Hey guys. I have spent a lot of time on the Pincab during the holidays, and I am am hearing issues with a lot of ROM sounds. What I am hearing is just a lack of crispness - bordering on slightly distorted ROM sounds with a lot of tables, and especially with system-11 ones. I believe I am running the latest VPM, but I will check later on. Not sure when this started.

I briefly searched the content within this board but did not see anything mentioning sounds issues with numerous tables. Are there any known sound related issues with possible remedies than can be passed along?

Thanks.
