Will PinballY be able to run in Linux? If I get the courage to dump Microsoft one day?

Unknown. It's a program written for Windows.

There are many different popular distributions of Linux.

When I went searching, I found a different branch of VPX called "VPX Standalone" . It runs natively on Linux (for the speed we need) and I used a different Front-End for all that.

Dont you also lose support of DMD Extensions, FlexDMD, DOF and PUP ?

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

As JSM put it ...

VPX Standalone on Linux/Mac/iOS/Android has everything bundled in it. There is no need to install several different pieces of software.

If you are looking to ditch Microsoft, the VPinFE frontend runs great on Linux and Mac, has lots of features, and the author (@superhac) is very helpful, supportive, and open to feature requests. The latest development version of VPX also supports runs on Linux, Mac, and mobile (!) and has native plugins for DOF, Pup, DMD colorizations (except PAC), etc.
