Hey all,

Having an issue with all versions of JP Salas Avengers Classic LE.  I keep getting " Locating Balls Please Wait " It will not play.  I've tried all versions of this game, deleting the NVRAM, and downloading a new version of the rom from Stern itself, it is the LE version, not the pro, and named, nvs_170h.  Last I deleted the information from reg. still nothing.  This table looks great even better than what it is based on and want to add it to my Favs.  So, any help would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

I have sent you a PM with the rom I use. The name should be avs_170h.zip.

Hi, any chance to get this table work with the color rom avs_170c? The table is so much more colorful and plays even better than the "Avengers Pro" version. It would be really an upgrade if the DMD would be also full of color! As far as I know, the avs_170c is for the PRO version and this table works with the the LE ROM version. Mabe there is a rework that also the LE version works with that rom? Thanks!

There are a lot of differences between the PRO rom and the LE rom, so the table needs a lot of changes in the solenoid calls. So you'll need to keep playing with the LE rom. Maybe someday someone will make a color version of the LE rom :)

Great table! With the recent development updates (10.8.1 v2839 for example) the DMD is not rendered at all. Probably because some changes to flashers were made. We can check the "use of external DMD" in the rom and hide the DMD in the script to bypass this problem ...

I'm not sure I still have to try the latest beta released just today, the DMD issue should be solved.

10.8.1 is not ready for testing. I tried the version from a few days ago, and the DMD didn't render either. I did not test it again, since I saw it is something vbpusquet is working on. So just play my tables with RC6 for now :)

I guess you have the wrong rom. You need the LE rom, not the PRO.

Download the rom from Stern's website: Game Code - Stern Pinball

Sear for Avengers prem/le and download the rom. Rename it as explained.

OK, first time posting ever. I just started VPX about 2 months ago and have amassed about 450 tables on my 2 screen mini cab thanks to all the unreal and amazing talented and selfless individuals who make and share these works of art. I can't thank you all enough!

So I actually tried something with this Avengers table that has been giving people (and myself) fits. There are 2 roms for this table: avs_170 & avs_170h. I followed the instructions to D/L the game code from stern and converted to zip. I tried doing it ONLY to the 170h and got the same issues as others: first searching for pinballs, then 2 balls at once pop out, lights not right, etc. I did this with the LE code AND the PRO code, same result. This led me to believe the other rom set (170, no h) had an issue as well. I noticed the 2 roms were the same size, so I simply took the same game code (In this case, the PRO and not the LE) and zipped it twice, naming one '170' and the other '170h'. Everything seems to work GREAT now! Still gotta play more to make sure, but everything is working fine now. I am using your table JP, so I'm not sure why the PRO set is working fine, maybe something will mess up later? We'll find out. Planning to do this with the LE set later just to see if its the same result or not.

Anyway, I couldn't find a detailed explanation for a noob like myself so I thought I'd share. Hope this helps another like myself. If I am missing something, please let me know. Cheers- Todd

Thanks JP, for another great table. I would like to use the color rom/DMD for this table, but it always says "pinballs missing" when using the avs_170c rom. Someone else posted that your table uses the LE rom (avs_170h), so it cannot use the Pro rom (avs_170c).

I guess this is similar to older posts above, but thought I would ask anyway.

Is there anything I can change in the script or anything you can recommend to be able to use the avs_170c color rom for this table?

You cannot change anything in the script, since the solenoid numbers are different, and some lights and switches are also different. Maybe someone will make a LE color rom in the future?
