ok, time to start another thread....ugh.

In the mean time, the log looks good now, but I have the flag file set and nothing happened.

More detail please.

- What flag file do you have

- What did you try leading you to the  "nothing happened" - ie what did you expect and not see?

I simply created an empty text document with the exact name of the table with the DOFLinx extension.

I was expecting to see some undercabinet lighting and I was expecting the flipper solenoids to fire when I pressed the flipper buttons and neither happened.

In my log file it tells me what version of VP I am monitoring, I do not see it in yours, are you sure the one you put in the DofLinx.ini file for monitoring matches the one you are using

The guide I've been following is online and there is no page 21.  Can you link to the document to which you are referring, please?

I have to step away for about 20 minutes.. Brb.

@Outhere, nice pick up.

The guide Outhere is referring to is the main DOFLinx giude that is packed in the zip.  It has all you need in it.

The walk-through setup post on this forum that you are following does have the detail, you just have to read every line.  Below from the guide post ....

The configuration I will use is below.  You should be able to search and replace to create your own setup
.....
Location and name of Visual Pinball 9.9.1 file C:\VP\VPinball_9_9_1.exe

So in your DOFLinx.INI file you need to make sure your PROCESSES= line has your VP process name.

Thank you but the real thank you goes to you for making this amazing program and now I see you have made it more amazing with the new release...

-

In my PROCESSES line I put the name of the EXE  -- Example --> VPinball993.exe  But only the name  -- VPinball993

I'm back.  Thanks to BOTH of you for your continued support with this topic.

I feel like I'm finally close to being done with Dofxx and can get on to the next problem..Maybe one day I'll be able to enjoy my cab free of problems, but the growing pains are still here for now.

I, too, am using 993, so I simply need to add "VPinball993" without the quotes to the processes line in the ini file and I should be good to go?

Thanks,

Still no success.  I forgot to delete the log first this time, so read from the bottom up.

I looked at the taskmanager and Vpinball.exe is the process that's running.  I'm pretty sure it's 9.9.3 but wanted to let you know the actual exe file that was running in case that helps.

Here's the log.

Will try that and report back.  Deleted log this time.  Sorry about that.

Does this mean I'm not running 9.9.3 like I thought I was?  Because I definitely downloaded and installed it.  Does that mean PinballX is calling the wrong exe file?  Would that have to be a topic for another thread?  (I'll search first, before creating a thread, but was just wondering if there was a quick answer you two might know about)

Thanks again,

--J

Well, this sucks.  I really thought that was going to work.

Here's the log.  A short log this time.  That's all that's there, though.

The only thing I changed was the processes line...

You are running whatever version shows up when you look in Help | About.  The name of the EXE file is irrelevant.  You can rename VPinball.exe to whatever you like.  When people run multiple versions they often rename them to something like VPInball993.exe to make it easy to identify.  Personally I have a few VPinallxxxx.exe versions for the older VPs and straight VPinall.exe for the current.
