With Hyperspin what results are you getting with VP and FP?  I see that DOFFX2 should not activate with VP but will with FP in your configuration, hence asking about how its working.

Do you do anything to stop LedBlinky (or other programs) when you start a VP game?  Now that you've added DOFFX2 to the mix, is there something that you will need to add to the Hyperspin front-end to stop a process using the LedWiz so that DOFFX2 can?

@DDH69

I have found a workaround to make it work through hyperspin, just need to start doffx2 directly when I launch Pinball FX2, Pinball Arcade or Future Pinball, and kill the process when I quit the pinball software.

Do you do anything to stop LedBlinky (or other programs) when you start a VP game

I do nothing ... when i start VP the dof r3 is switching on and when i quit vp, I need to move to another table in the list to re enable the ledblinky control

Glad to hear.  From what you are saying I suspect LedBlinky more than Hyperspin.  So keep going the way you are and I'll read some more and see what I can come up with.

there a way to end the process pinballX Pinball FX2 once the balls are finished . and again pinballX table selection

Avi, DOFFX2 detects the key strokes and doesn't know what FX2 is actually doing.  So pressing the keys regardless of being in a game or otherwise will still activate the flippers, etc.

Yes I understand. but my question is . if you know if there is way to pinballx aga this function. that at the end of the balls table selection again

I think what he is asking, is if we know a way to quit PFX2 at the end of a game and go back to Pinball X. It has nothing to do specifically with DOFFX2....I think he's just asking if we know how to do that.

For me, I use Pinnacle Game Profiler to "map" my keyboard commands to my cabinet buttons. You can also use Xpadder or something similar.

I have it map "Alt-F4" to my exit button, which exits PFX2 and goes back to Pinball X. I also use .BAT files that "taskkill" other games like Visual Pinball, etc...

Right. It has nothing to do with DOFFX2 . it is for the cockpit arcade make it as possible. Pinball FX2 as no option to insert coin

Hi DDH69,

first of all, thanks for your DOFFX2!! I have so much fun now while playing PFX2!

My RGB "undercab complex" works fine with it. I have also mapped the left and right flipper buttons to the green and red channels of two RGB flashers, so I have nice color flashes when pressing the flipper buttons - while the RGB stripe goes through the rainbow colors :-)

Now I wanted to activate DOFFX2 when starting "Pro Pinball'". So I uncommented the "PROCESSES" line. It looks like this now:

PROCESSES=Pinball FX2, Pro Pinball

Unfortunately DOFFX2 doesn't start when running Pro Pinball. What have I done wrong? I've also tried with "ProPinball.exe" as task name, but whithout success.

The process name is usually the EXE file name with no ".exe".  So in your case possibly "PROCESSES=Pinball FX2, ProPinball".  If in doubt look up the process name from task manager.  There is a description of doing this in the guide.  Let me know how you get on.

For anyone who has wondered...the DOFFX2MSG.exe can be a great tool.

I haven't had a chance to try much, but it is good for inactive process operations (like when you are not in a game,quitting,etc).

For me, I normally have a .BAT file that does a "taskkill" of EVERYTHING when exiting ANY system and going back to Pinball X.  So when I exit, I taskkill, VPX,VP9,VPPM5, FP, PFX2, TPA, etc...or anything else that doesn't need to be open. It's en easy "back to Pinball X' .BAT to clean up anything for just in case scenarios.

However, I find using the DOFFX2MSG.exe to tell DOFFX2 to "QUIT" is a much more reliable and cleaner way of exiting DOFFX2 than using a "taskkill".

The task manager says "Pro Pinball" as taskname. The exe file is named ProPinball.exe. So I've already tried with "Pro Pinball" "ProPinball" and "ProPinball.exe", but DOFFX2 doesn't wake up. I will try it again this evening, maybe I've made something wrong.

Hi DDH69,

when starting in PacLED64 mode, RGB_OUTPUT only works, when I set the seperator to comma ! When I set it to space, only the first PacLED64 output works  :unsure:

Works:

RGB_OUTPUT=104,110,113,116,119

Does not work:

RGB_OUTPUT=104 110 113 116 119

If you're still stuck post your INI file and a screen shot of the process details.  We'll work this through and get an answer.

 Thanks for letting me know.  From V2 the separators should be comma not space.  Having said that space should still work ..... looks like I missed something.

......... found it!  Its the only list that wouldn't have automatically converted space to comma separated internally - oops.

I'll fix it but not post a new version yet .  I can't see anyone needing it - but as always educate me if I you need it for some reason.

Great, thanks for the info !

A suggestion for a possible new feature: RGB_TRIGGER combined with RGB_STYLE=RANDOM triggers the color for all outputs defined in RGB_OUTPUT, but all outputs get the same (random) color. A new parameter (e.g. RGB_STYLE=RANDOM_DIFF), which triggers a different random color for each defined output, could bring more color into the pinballers life   :dblthumb:

OK, I'll code it if you test it !  :tongue3:

Oh, hang on, just coded it!  (The family are watching Ink Master this evening and I hate that!)  A random colour will set to each RGB device when it triggers.  I only have one RGB device so can't test this, I suspect it will look like a unicorn vomiting a rainbow :stunned:     Look out for this option when I release V3.

I'm ready to test, if it helps, otherwise I am looking forward to V3 (meanwhile purchasing an antiemetic for my unicorn   :whistle: )

For anyone having problems...try making sure that you have all of your .exe and .dll files,etc for DOFFX2 and PFX2 "unblocked" in Win 8 & Win 10. Also you may need to have PFX2 and DOFFX2 set to "run as administrator".

Random RGB OUTPUTS "DIFF"  sounds like a great idea!

Also, I know we can set the RGB Output brightness in DOF with the DOF config Tool....

Would it be possible to specify the brightness of an RGB Output (or all) in DOFFX2 separately from the "master" setting we configured with the DOF config tool?

I'm also trying to understand more the "intent" of the MSG app.  It seems to be specifically used for when DOFFX2 is sleeping...am I right? So if I launched Future Pinball with a SUP file and DOFFX2 woke up...but then wanted to have something changed on the fly while FP is running, then the MSG app commands won't work at all, and I can't change anything until DOFFX2 is closed / restarted?

I know you have "plans" coming up, I'm just making sure I'm not trying to use the MSG app for something it wasn't meant to do?  I was originally going to have DOFFX2 "always" running with Force Active=0....then when FP (MAME, TPA, etc) is launched, DOFFX2 will wake up to that specific process and the SUP file I have for that system. I hoped it would take effect until I quit the game and then DOFFX2 will "sleep". Then when I run a different system, DOFFX2 will "wake" and change its configuration based on the SUP file for the new system.

However, I can only get the first SUP file / system to take effect. Afterward, when I quite the game, DOFFX2 sleeps,...then when I launch a different system , DOFFX2 "wakes" but doesn't re-configure with the new SUP file.  I get this with, or without using the MSG app.....

Is using DOFFX2 as a "Launch Before" (and not always running) the only way to do this? This is how I currently run it, then I use the MSG app to "quit" DOFFX2 when exiting back to Pinball X.
