Yeah! today proved useful. We have a new treasure for the LOTR table. The Nazgul!

This won't be in the upcoming release, but will be featured in the final release.

 

Things are moving steadily forward, below is the latest shot from Inside VP:

 

These are the new light-inserts that you will be seeing in the upcoming update.

The inserts were colored with screen captures taken from the video shared in the above post. The new detail was thanks to links to material from Vampiro.

These images also show the latest work i have done on all the gold ramps. Progress is good...

 

With the new light inserts in place, i can now push the ambient light further down, without the inserts looking out of place.

 

things are starting to take shape.

Latest test results just in, we now have playfield light-animation.

The good news is we should have a new Beta version out in a few days time, the progress has been good.

Man, we got to get some younger/healthier people in this hobby.  I think half of the regulars on here are on the injured/sick list at any given time. It really sucks getting older!

Thanks guys. Yes, a break is probably all i need to get better, just need to take it easy for a while. it's only my chest acting up, it's Winter now in SA, and probably too many late nights.

Anyways, i'll probably be back on the bus before you know it! Thank you for all the get-well wishes, it means a lot to me. i'll get stronger yet.

Hahhah, i think we can call this 'The LOTR Trilogy' ... coming next season, 'The Two-Towers'  

 

The journey into the world of VP has been exciting to say the least. And the support from the community has been fantastic!

I can see greater things are still to come...

It's featuring all the updated physics that will be coming with the upcoming LOTR update. As well as an all-new Chrome pinball (also coming with the next LOTR update)

Back onto LOTR:

i also gave Physmod5 a good run for it's money. i remember Mpad had a request for PM5, and i was honestly excited about the idea myself. But having tried it out first-hand, i'm sorry to say this Mpad, but VP9.9.1 physics outclasses those of PM5, i tried everything you could except for scripting, and i was really disappointed with the flippers handling, not to mention the nudging. I then read on the threads here on VP-forums addressing these very same issues, i think we can safely give PM5 a skip.

 

i've been further researching physics and all things VP. i read some very useful threads by JPSalas about what all these numbers mean. i have also now used video footage of the LOTR table to simulate the movements of the real table as best i could. This new update for LOTR is going to play like a whole different animal, with a really great flow to it. i honestly couldn't put the game down for hours on end after i got it to the sweet-spot. i think you guys will enjoy it too!

 

i need some time to pick up the pieces again for LOTR, hopefully by the end of the weekend we will have something. i will certainly give it my best.

Let's go get the show back on the road shall we!

Thanks Slydog. Hahah, this wood-toymaker still has some more tricks yet.   i've got some really great plans for this upcoming LOTR.

And it will be coming in FS too! YEAH!!

 

Good news, i managed to turn on the "Sound Subs" from inside the script. And i'm pretty sure i'm hearing a difference in the sound quality (and i think i'm hearing extra sound samples). It could be a placebo thing, but you guys can let me know in the new update.

 

Phew! the Work Folder for LOTR is currently at 22GB!!!

Definitely My Biggest Photoshop Project Ever!

Bounty Hunter was needing a desperate update. Fixed up everything i could without it getting in the way of LOTR. It plays a lot better now i think.
