Good news, and just saw that you have already sold 200. That's quite impressive and I'm tempted to use these cams as well...just saw the Tron video and it looked like it tracked so much better than I was ever able to achieve with my Kinect. Full size cab first, though.

I received mine in the mail today.  Easy to set up.  Just follow the youtube videos.  I still need to do some tweaking & mounting but the effect is very cool.  Thanks Randy for the excellent kit and Ravarcade for the really cool mod.

Id like to know how to find the cams to mod, as RAV is pretty busy, and I have no problem building the kit and making the mods - I cant seem to find the "correct" Ps3 cams. I love BAM with the Kinect, but It looks like it works that much better with the PS3 cams. Help??

PS# cams is best but from what ive seen rav has really improved kinects. I purchased my first batch years ago for touch tables and got second batch from a head hunter of used wholesale equipment locally but to get a fair price i needed to purchase min 100pcs. anyways if you want i will sell you a couple of cams you can mod yourself for $18.00 each since I got my second batch have sold 10 more kits so they may not last long

If Im going to order I may as well just get a kit - its more about the time then money. How do the PS3 cams work for various heights of people? It seems like my kinect works great for me and people my size but it really skews when my 13 year old son plays...Thats the main reason im thinking about going with the Ps3 cams

Ive not seen any problem with shorter/younger people...it tracks a IR led as long as you have cams mounted properly so they start view just above lock bar i cant see a issue. Im more than happy to just provide the cams!

2 versions you can see with the eye left is the bad for modding flat lens and right is the good easy one round lens . you can also feel it ;-)

I had bought my cameras on Ebay before randr started offering these kits. But I'm still dragging my heels getting this build completed and haven't done the work on my own BAM head tracking kit. Hearing that there were a good and a bad version of the camera for modifying sold under the same model number, I was kind of concerned about what I had. Here's a little more information:

Apparently the bad ones were sold outside of the US. The pair of cameras I have are fine.

Still, it would be a pretty sweet deal just to have a kit ready-made for installation rather than figuring it out on my own!

I dont know about that - I went through about 8 at the local gamestop (used), and they ALL were the "bad" kind - here in the US.

Wow! I guess I got lucky then.

That's a shame. You can acquire these pretty cheaply on Ebay, but because all of the cameras have the same model number you don't know what you get will work until you have it in your hands. A lesson would be always check with the seller first before you bid!

The poster at the link above sells equipment for touch tables, etc. If you do get the bad one, he can sell you a compatible lens and a proper filter (not just a piece of a floppy disk) that will fit perfectly on the camera. Of course, it will cost more than what you paid for the camera originally.

all orders have been shipped as of today. 39 kits is what I have in stock as of today.

The last kit I shipped out was to Giovanni Hernandez and modded those cams a little differently!! so Giovanni I think you will be my "test" if no issues I will use this new method. :)

Darker cams wanted to see if it helps with ceiling lights in room effecting head tracking. I have lights off in room when I use bam but wanted to see if it makes any difference
