Thank you so much, guys! The Softwares used were Autodesk Maya 2013 and VRay as the render engine.
Here's a picture of me surrounded by LEGENDS! This one was taken during the production. From left to right: Animation Supervisor Hal Hickel, director Guillermo del Toro, model supervisor Paul Giacoppo, Co-VFX Supervisor Lindy De Quattro and VFX supervisor and legend John Knoll (one of the creators of Photoshop!). I'll save this picture forever
Done and done! Thanks to Russ and RoccoC, who were kind enough to send me some courtesy transformer/pinDMD2, I was able to FINALLY put all pieces together. Next stop: finish the artwork!
So happy that the Plasma DMD is now fully working!!! :DDD
The only "issues" I'm having are that the pinDMD logo stays on for a very long time, until I play a game. Would be cool if it turned off in, lets say, 30 seconds or so
The other issue is that when I press "Esc" to get out of the front end (PinballX), a lot of times the latest data on the DMD display gets frozen there, until I play something else. Same happens to any toy or lights that were left on when "Esc" was pressed. The light or motor will stay on until I play some other game. This PinballX front end is pretty cool and can run any .exe file before or after it exits. I was thinking, would be possible to force everything off on exit? I mean, a compiled .exe file that would send a off signal to the pinDMD2 and also turn off anything related to the ledwiz? This way I wouldn't have any "leftovers" from the last game. Let me know if you got any ideas on how to solve this problem
I can quickly write an exe that just sends a kill signal to the pinDMD ill get this done tomorrow
HyperDMD with pinDMD2 will be the tool to use to do this once it has pinDMD2 support.
There is a version of the pinDMD firmware where the logo is removed once the pinDMD makes the usb connection so it only stays up for 5-10 seconds then the DMD goes blank.
So, I heard many bad things about Future Pinball in the past. I heard that:
-Physics suck -Doesn't support DMD -Doesn't support ledwiz -Doesn't support a real DMD
I was completely oblivious to the fact that all of those things are PAST!!!!
There's a hacked version called "Future Pinball - Physics Mod v 2.5", that GREATLY improves the physics and it feels very realistic now! Thanks to the work of "Macro", now DMD animations, real DMDs and ledwiz are fully supported! There are only a few tables fully working at this point, but those feel and look amazing! I played Scared Stiff yesterday, with plasma DMD, contactors, gear motor, flashers, strobes, everything working and the table look GORGEOUS! I'll put a new video together over the weekend, showing a little comparison between the two versions, but so far I'm REALLY impressed by the work done on the Future Pinball side. Give it a try and you will find out that it's actually pretty easy to get all those mods installed. Just one file to be changed (the ledwiz ini file to match your inputs) and a few files to be dropped in a few folders. Done!
On top of that, there's "BAM":
Another one:
This is certainly my next step and it's cheap, a little more than 30 bucks for two PS3 eyetoy cameras.
I thought he had it working now also with connect, that should have been better than the ps3 option.

I thought so too, but I read in one of the videos he released that out of all "BAM" supported devices (wiimote, webcam, kinect and eyetoy), ps3's eyetoy was the one showing the best precision/results. He actually said that 2x eyetoys would be the best option to this point. I just don't know how to set up the two eyetoys, but I surely want to try!
-Kris I found his comment in this video:
"Rafał Janicki wrote: Best is 2x modified PS3 EyeTos used to trace ir-led (like WiiMotes).
Not sure what he meant by "modified". I'm very curious.
Found it! This is the solution using two ps3 cameras. You will also need a hat (or glasses or whatever) modified, with a little LED light fixed on it, so the tracking is much more precise. Something like this would work I think: http://www.amazon.co...d_bxgy_hi_img_y
Well got it working with 2 wii remotes. Calibrated with make shift 4 LEDs and then 3 point. Effect is very good. Another wasted morning at work but worth it
