It's great seeing you making progress like this!

S1500 stopped over today for a couple of hours.  Made some major progress on WOOLY again - we're flipping!  The video link below is the very first flips - nothing has been adjusted on the table yet.  Really happy with the flow and layout for the first time.  Lots of work to do "tweaking" some areas, cleaning up the plastics, delaying some of the coil responses (VUK for instance) as well as wiring in the rest of the coils (kickback, drain, bumper, etc.) and switches and lights.  Watch out for my giant head - seems to get in the way a bit as well, but you get the idea - in any case we're frickin flippin!

looks good can you make a better video of it?

Yeah, the vid I posted to youtube was originally 100mb - they dumbed it down or something.  Once I get a few of the kinks worked out I'll post another video (hopefully) in better resolution.

Quick question for those cab builders out there with the Vishay Dmd's - how did you power it? Is it really as simple as connecting five volts out of your power supply to one of the two 5V inputs and then running the ground back out of one of the two ground outputs to the same 5v power supply connector?

It was for me and my 5VDC LED Vishay display.  Your mileage may vary...

I bought one of these to hook up my Vishay, extremely simple:

Thanks for the other option Rudy.  I think I'll just end up pulling 5VDC off of one of my CPU power supply molex connectors.  Looks like I can just connect the power to either of the two power inputs and then run the ground back out of either of the grounds.

Things are really cooking now.  Besides the first rock star programmer joining this team, S1500, another rock star, Luvthatapex, has decided to help out with the DMD animations.  He's been burning through the dots code faster than I can keep up.

Below is a link to our preliminary attract mode highlighting the monsters and gods that need to be defeated along with the other nuggets of gold to collect along the pinball journey.  Things are getting very exciting.  Yes indeed.

No, the Vishay display has support for 16 shades of RED, so we will be using all 16 shades but no other colors.

any plan for color DMD art?

Yes, and we have new visa requirements: a KZ-26 or any other Spanish pinball machine. :)

Quick question for those Vishay owners - do you know if there are any issues leaving the DMD "on" with a few pixels lighted for more than a few minutes at a time - let's say up to 10 minutes?  Any issues with power cycling the Vishay frequently??

Oh yeah, also forgot to add one EXTREMELY valuable member to the development team - without his help and selflessness in volunteering a HUGE amount of his free time, WOOLY would never have existed, thanks again JP for being such a great guy and helping me get WOOLY off the ground with the VP build.

S1500 and Luvthatapex never cease to amaze me - the WOOLY team has not only coils, sound, and a DMD working, but a freakin lampshow to boot.
