I wonder if they can grab licenses for less-known tables for dirt cheap. Imagine Zaccaria & all the other non-Bally/WMS/Stern tables for download & play without the Kickstartin'.

A project with the potential to become a huge gamechanger in the world of pinball recreations struggles to collect 1.5K in months, and a single recreation gets 55K in 15 days.

What project are you talking about?

Unity license

Certainly won't be coming from here. We needed months to get the cash together for the Unity license and that was only 1,5K. A month is just WAY too little time for a fanbase this niche. I'd have estimated about six months time would be enough, just to get the word out to enough people and manage to drum up enough of an interest for the cash to come together. Instead, it'll fall flat with more than 20K still to go and nothing will happen. Such is the way of Kickstarter.

Good call...The Twilight Zone Kickstarter Project is now fully funded and in just 15 short days. smile.gif

Bah. That just really kind of annoys me. A project with the potential to become a huge gamechanger in the world of pinball recreations struggles to collect 1.5K in months, and a single recreation gets 55K in 15 days. And of course, they're going to go for a double. Makes me wonder what would happen if they fall short of the double - they're still getting all the money, after all.

Any extra money will be applied to the ST:TNG license. If they are close to the goal Farsight may decide to pony up the rest, if not they may start another kickstarter for ST:TNG asking for the licensing costs minus what they have already collected.

The guys over at Farsight are a very dedicated, passionate and sincere group. They are not out to scam anyone.

I couldn't be happier that they reached the goal for TZ and I look forward to seeing how close we can get to obtaining ST:TNG.

Twilight zone should be an awesome table for the i-pad and other devices.
I guess all the negative Nells and non believers can just skip it.
Glad to see they reached the goal so fast.

I'm really looking forward to their TZ table!

Yesterday, I played an actual "Ripley's Believe it or Not" table and then immediately compared it to the "Farside" simulation as rendered on my third-gen iPad. I could not get over how close the simulation was! The real table had less bounce off the flippers, but that could be attributed to the age of the table. In all other respects the game play was comparable -- and much better than the VP9 iteration on my laptop. These guys are *really* good!!

I have to say that I can't wait for their PC version with the promised cabinet support! I may have to even break down and get me one of those "VirtuaPins" just to play the Farside stuff!!

Congrats to Farsight studios for meeting & beating the $55,000 goal for the Twilight Zone pinball machine licensing! I'm not sure if they'll beat their new goal of $110,000 for ST:TNG, but still, to get
