I found their FAQ and it sounds like they don't give out any discounted licenses. I guess it's still worth asking. You wouldn't happen to be a student would you? They have a student license for Pro for $749.

I did some searching and in the past they have offered 20% discounts to go from Trial to Pro version, so we should keep our eyes open for that. The last coupon was for the 3.4.1 release back in October 2011.

Is it only the dll communication with Pinmame that requires the pro version? Could the Pinmame calls be controlled by comple time options so that others might be able contribute to the code base using the free version?

don't understand really well ... you're talking about vbs to c# ... you can use mono develop which is free to code without unity editor

When the plunger and flippers are added, will there be released a demo executable so we can try the physics? I really would like to have something to play with before I'll sponsor the project. It would also be cool if there is something where we can see the current earnings. Another side question, what will happen with the money if the project fails or not enough money has been received to buy the Pro version?

Honestly,
I dont think $1,500 will be the problem. If this works they way it should we should be able to raise the money. Don't forget the guys over at gopinball are also onboard with this.

Physics will be fully tweakable from script , so when the first alpha will be released, it will be your job to state the basis of it.
So i'll can focus on missing table elements while you bring physics parameters to the top .

and don't worry about this project, i wont let it die , i' m too much involved on it(even if i am alone )
And i loved too much VP so i want its rebirth with a technology that matches with our time !

If the donation is not sufficient , i will give the missing funds.

I have lots of ideas for the future, but i need to have the license so the unity guys will help me with those things i want in the project and i can't realize now.

As an exemple , all the table lights are now checked every frames as i can't figure how to use the changed lamps array in c#(it returns me an null exception)

And if i could do this, i could maybe do the same with the dmd to have it fully integrated in the 3d environment (i dream of it)

Keep up the great work. Really good!

If there are copyright-problems with the FP Models, you could also use my importer for VP-Tables, but you would have to optimize the models by yourself.

Feel free to grab all C# code from http://sourceforge.n...ojects/vpp2k11/ .

BTW: My absence is due to my MBA-Study that i do aside my full-time-job, nothing else, everything is fine, just some kind of lack of time. ;-)

donated 50$ for the "unity" effort (and i consider myself part of the gopinball-community)

i really don't see much risk involved in this... even if it does'nt turn out the way we like (worst case, which i do not assume), talented louizou will certainly create some other enjoyable games with that engine... and share them smile.gif

Ok, that particular feature is probably needed all the time.

What I'm trying to determine, is there anyway that others can help you out and code without having the pro version once you start building with the pro version? For example this issue you are having with the lamps, if there were others that could code on this project, someone might be able to take a look at that problem and fix it while you are working on another part of the code base. Of course this all doesn't matter if you do not want help coding and would prefer to work on the project alone. Just let us know if having a team to help is of interest to you.

$50 sent via paypal.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

I am really happy that this new project supports roms.
it's like having the soul of the machines resurrected through the software.
And like they do for arcades in MAME, I think it helps the conservation effort done by the pinMAME team to prevent the roms to be lost forever with the machines they were created for.
That's why I've always liked VP. I guess it is really a nostalgia thing for me on top of playing pinball.

Anyway very excited with the project, my cab will be waiting for it wink.gif .

Donated 25$.

Awesome work Louizou. thank you.
