I would like to confirm that for me everything seems to work also with the new beta after applying the 4gb patch mentioned by @BrandonLaw

Got the dll files and now it works.

 

@Pin-Pete: If you have Windows 10 64bit you will have to download msvcp140.dll both 32bit and 64bit versions. Keep them separate because they both have the same filename. Place 64bit version in Windows\Syster32 folder. Place 32bit version in Windows\SysWOW64 folder.

 

Download vcruntime.dll and place in Windows\System32 folder and Windows\SysWOW64 folder.

Thannks! That did the magic trick. Those files were for some reason disappeared to bit space

REGARDING: Flexible OLED Screens and PinCab Sidewall Presentation for PinCab Users:

Ok so I know this is way off in the future kind of stuff but ..... has anyone on the dev team given any serious though to carving out some component in the Visual Pinball engine that would allow VP to do additional screen presentation to the LFT & RT sidewalls and the backwall for the playfield (in a PinCab scenario). The basic idea is that you could project sidewall and backwall images to additional screens 4, 5 & 6 to the thin OLED flexible display screens. I know it is cost prohibitive for right now BUT cost will drop in time ... if we can carve out the capacity to talk to screens 4, 5 & 6, VP could be positioned well to leverage this idea when the cost of flexible OLED screens are within reach assuming flexible OLD's can be created with a long rectangular short shape conducive to what you would normally see as the sidewalls in a regular pinball cabinet. Just a blue-sky idea for now. mrjc.

That might be worth looking into PinUp Player for. Or ask over in the Visual Pinball Engine thread. Visual Pinball X doesn't really support multiple screens directly, it leverages external programs like B2S, PinMAME, and UltraDMD/FlexDMD to display on other screens.

Intermediate 10.6.2 release with njk70s new 7.1 audio mode (plus a whole bunch of simple backports of 10.7 shader tweaks and fixes, see changelog), please test/compare to 10.6.1:

The next official auto build will also feature this again, fuzzel also tracked this down in the meantime..

Latest build gives me system error: msvcp140.dll and vcruntime140.dll was not found.

Same over here.

 

Seems like there is still an additional difference in the new auto build that artificially generated this requirement. jsm will look into this, i hope.

Just curious, are there any VR tweaks in 10.7 such that we don't have to use the same settings in VPX and VPVR or is that a VPVR issue? Sorry if this has been mentioned earlier.

It's rather a VPVR issue i'd say. Maybe at some point both projects can converge into a single one again, but i fear that both dev pools do not have enough spare time for this.  :/

..just randomly played quite some tables with 10.6.2, all good, so i need some more concrete repro cases, please..

 

this makes no sense, or maybe it does?

 

since it is meant to to be a 1.6.1 update, i started with a stock 10.6.0 install
then dumped the 1.6.1 zip into that
then put the 10.6.2 into that, except renamed the exe so as to retain the stock one

 

ran ACDC (stern) 170h rom  died several times, not even starting the table, just watching the demo mode.

 

ran Star Trek LE (stern again) it kinda just froze, i gave it a while to crash but it did not, so had to force kill it

 

tried firepower, looked out, it started fine, started to play and poof vpx vanished
not like froze then crashed, just like instantly was gone.

So i take the 10.6.2 exe, and i throw it in the 10.7 folder, for why i dont know, i just did
and it is running the same tables.
And not only the same tables, but with color roms with SAM build 3.3b and freezy's 1.9.0 rev 7 dmd extensions and flexdmd 1.7

AND
It is also running 10.7 only tables, albeit with many shades of off white, but that is to be expected.

 

So i am not sure exactly what gives there?
Is there any DLL or Script etc that we might all have from testing 10.7 that might be overlooked but needed for someone updating a bone stock 10.6.1 install?

 

Also, one other thing
I will not swear that none of my tables have been touched in some way by some version of 10.7, even if it was simply changing a ROM name or adjusting POV or backdrop
So, i suppose that could cause some issue, even if it causes none for 10.6.1

I will just run it out of the 10.7 folder for now, and download some virgin tables later to compare
Sound tests will have to wait till i can get to my desktop, cant tell much with 2 channel and headphones

rev111 is up:

 

- Inline convert mono .WAV samples to 2-channels when needed (thanks njk70)

- fix 2gb ram issue for tables with lots of images.

- autobuild system updated

- add new command line parameter "-PovEdit [filename]" which loads and runs a table in camera mode, then exports a new pov on exit
