I am seeing an issue with Jp's Deadpool now with 10.8beta1807 - 1828.
I recently loaded and played JPsDP with 1807, and it started fine. But then I made some changes and saved the table, then after trying to play again, it would not start. It now hangs on the loading screen and for all intents and purposes, is now broken.
If I reinstall a new version, it plays fine until its saved, and then once its saved, it will not play again. For testing purposes, I ran the table with older the older 32bit and there are no issues there at all even if you save. Sure seems like a bug.
Anyone else seeing this? Is this already known?
I'm having the exact same problem with this table. No other issues with other Flex DMD tables.
I would look for a corrupted POV file or something as neither i nor a number of others can replicate this issue.
I installed the latest VPX8 update (1829) and in my cab the buttons stopped working, none of them work anymore... funny that with the keyboard plugged in it works normally.
One thing that I found strange is that the size of the VPX application file has drastically reduced... before, if I'm not mistaken, it was close to 46,000 Kbytes in size and now it is only 9,000 Kbytes, is that right? Or am I downloading the wrong file?
So I can't seem to get the scores on top of the screen. It is there just not viewable while playing. As in if I Alt tab its there just not in the game How do I get them to show while playing? widows 10 64bit open GL 10.80. Any help please
Is the most recent one to look for , the latest with the title "master" by it.
I get confused by what is the latest in the actions list quite frankly.
" I would try re-downloading if the package wasn't about 56 mb." ? 56 mb isnt much.
Yeah, "master" is what you want. Those are the normal 10.8 builds... avoid standalone and 10.8.1.
Yeah, I think the guy that was originally having problems said the one he downloaded was 9mb, which is not right. I looked at mine and it was about 56 mb and the x64 master packages are usually about that range.

OK, i need some help here. I just upgraded from 10.8 beta 5 to beta 7 on my cabinet. Right now I wish I hadn't.
The new POV system drives me nuts.
Maybe this will help:
Thanks, I knew pretty much all of this already... in fact, I used these settings with beta 5 to set up my POV files for many of my tables earlier. The one thing I didn't know of is hitting ENTER/Launch Ball when the 'Window' mode rotated the table sideways in beta 7. That didn't happen with beta 5.
After using this 'reset to default' just to get the table rotated back to the proper view, it seems that exactly as I was afraid of, my previous POV settings became useless since they are ignored at this point. Thus, I must redo all of them to get the new .INI files. That's a major PITA with a large number of tables that were set up already fine with the beta 5 'Window' mode... unless I'm mistaken and there is a way to preserve those POV settings AND get the table rotated properly at the same time when generating the INI file.
Yes, I know that if I have a POV file and I go to 'Adjust Camera' in beta 7, then those old POV values are taken into account and I can just hit 'Start' to generate an INI file. This works as long as the old POV file was in 'Legacy' mode. However, if the old POV already used the 'Window' mode in beta 5, then beta 7 displays the table in rotated view, and the only way to get things right is resetting to default and setting up the 'Window' POV values again
By the way, reading the release notes I found the link that explains these new POV values. This helps, although I wouldn't say it's easy to understand all details.
This image confuses me somewhat, and it appears to be more convoluted than it should be (at least to me). Also, it doesn't explain what the Player X value means in Video Preferences. But I understand now that those are the 'base' values applied as a starting point when setting up the individual tables.

Another thing... it may have been explained somewhere in this lengthy thread, but where did the 'User' tab go in beta 7? That was where you could set up a bunch of settings on a per-table basis which was very handy, and it was saved as part of the POV file. It was integrated into video preferences. You can still do "per table" settings but it is a bit more fidgety to set up. Not sure why they did this except to work with the new .ini system.

The settings in Video Preferences are across the board for all tables. Those were already there forever, so if the per table settings are now eliminated, that is a major regression. I hope this will be back once the final 10.8 version is released.
You say that setting them per table is still possible - how?

Video preferences... upper left... click "specific table overrides".
@htamas : If I where you. I would simply analyze what changes between a beta 5 and a beta 7 ini file. Just copy the old one - somewhere, delete and redo the process for that table. Then compare. High chance that you can patch your old ini files to become beta 7 compatible. I haven't investigated this myself, just recently started to make new pov's, so, this is more or less me guessing.
From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.
