I opened a feature request ticket for it earlier today.  It's ticket #1255 (closed) if you want to read the reply from vbousquet.

A few issues I found today with latest Beta

Just 1 table where the PUP does not close out when exiting, Iron Maiden LOTB

Also, no idea how but the music from the PUP is playing through my front SSF speakers and not the backbox. Rolling back to the last stable release and things work fine, just with the Beta it's having a bit of an issue.

is that a vpx bug or a PUP bug?

As VPX plays no part in the playing of PUP audio

Yeah no idea, when you update both PUP and VPX at the same time and things go wrong, impossible to know what the issue is BUT when I rolled back to my older VPX 10.8 Beta 2 I think, it works as expected. Will progress and test further on this one, that is why I ahvent opened a bug report because cannot be sure

I am seeing an issue with Jp's Deadpool now with 10.8beta1807 - 1828.

I recently loaded and played JPsDP with 1807, and it started fine. But then I made some changes and saved the table, then after trying to play again, it would not start. It now hangs on the loading screen and for all intents and purposes, is now broken.

If I reinstall a new version, it plays fine until its saved, and then once its saved, it will not play again. For testing purposes, I ran the table with older the older 32bit and there are no issues there at all even if you save. Sure seems like a bug.

Anyone else seeing this? Is this already known?

To test, I merely ran a fresh install of DP, and it worked fine several times in a row. Then I saved the table with no changes at all, and now it wont run. It stays in a hung state on the loading screen.

Do you have a pov or ini saved for that table?  Did you try deleting it and then a fresh version of the table?

There is not even an associated POV or INI for this new reinstall of the DP table. Guess you can rule those out. Same problem remains. The table plays fine until you save it, then it wont load and play again. Surely I can be the only one seeing this.

I haven't had anything like this.  Is it just the one table?  If it's just one table it's not likely to be a sweeping VPX bug, but you could always submit a trouble ticket.

I noticed this on Megadeth and John Wick. Saving anything in the desktop editor results in the table not loading, stuck in scripts.

Saving pov by exporting does work.

Just tested the new transformers update and I can save that one.

Perhaps the issue is with no rom tables.

Hi,
I also had issues with the latest VPX versions from Github.

It all started that there are some tables where you should have a FlexDMD for scoring. But instead of scores I could only see "Game over" or any non responsive DMD.

Then with the newer original tables like Jumanji and Megadeth, I got a freezing starting process.

After some more analysis I found out that the issues occurs only on tables where FlexDMD is used and FlexDMD uses internal resources ( no <tablename>.UltraDMD folder).

Then I downloaded all 10.8.0 Beta releases and also some of the newer 10.8.1 releases and found that everyting worked with the beta releases and with all 18.8.1 my issues occur.

So If you want to play these tables with internal FlexDMD resources, you should stick with the 10.8.0 versions. It directly refers to the Bug "10.8.1: GOT LE scripting broken #1246"

So it looks like the Tables with flexDMD might be having issues. So for a table like JPs Deadpool. Is there a line that can be edited or deleted in the script to sever the link to FlexDMD? If there is, I can simply deactivate FlexDMD and use only the associated Pup-packs.

If I read right, vbousquet said 10.8.1 is not ready to be tested, and that we should keep testing the so called master, which is 10.8. So maybe 10.8 will be ready for a release. So why are you testing 10.8.1?

Right or wrong, I am simply trying to use a common beta on my cab when testing tables. May be careless doing this, but I am just trying not to have to manage various revs.

You have identified a problem.  Open a trouble ticket on github.

...and JPSalas is right... the latest word from from the VPX devs was that 10.8.1 is not ready for normal use.  Only the "master" builds 10.8.

I have used the latest master builds, and the latest beta (10.8) all with the same issue. 10.8.1 is not the problem.
