Here are few user check points when doing the install:

  • This is the line item i changed in the dmddevice.ini to get the dmd off my tables.

7408f3515a5b3f047076c48dfa9bc6ac2e4a4536

Can you please explain why you did this, and what your screen setup is.  Otherwise this doesn't make sense.

The other thing is, it's easier to unblock the entire downloaded zip folder before you unzip it.  That way you don't have to look for different files to unblock as they all will be.

I have a real dmd ............. playfield, backglass, 3rd screen and a real dmd.

and good tip

Just a heads up. I downloaded and have used your 98b build and it has fixed the 'lagging/stutter' issue I was previously experiencing. I have an old i5 2500S with a 1060gpu and it runs Tron sweet; thank you for this great interface.

i have read "somewhere" that the aspect ratio of a DMD PuP video should be 4:1 aspect ratio. Does anyone have any advice how to crop a video to specific dimensions? If i resize a 16:9 its squished, and i only want a certain region of the source video. How do i just capture that region, or crop the video to it? Right now i am just using freeware like OpenShot of Lightworks, but i am open to any other free video editing software if needed.

I noticed that when play a table that has pinup player actively doing something, my flippers stick on every table using this add-on. I noticed the issue seems to be "RGB Undercab Complex" set for my relays. If i change to "RGB Undercab Smart", the problem goes away and the table plays fine. Anyone else noticed flippers getting stuck?

Putting this out there... PUP doesn't work well with the 3.0 release of VLC - it'll drop out trying to play videos. You need to use the 2.2.8 release for it to work correctly.

Yes, I agree... v3.0 is an entirely new 'beast' apparently.  I tried it but it was actually slower than 2.2.8.... so we'll stick with that for a while!...   they keep all old versions on their website, so easy to find older versions than current.

I finally got around to setting up PinUp Player on my cabinet... Having issues.  I'm using a Pin2DMD with 2.55 firmware. PuP works. I've edited the .ini to turn off the virtualdmd, set all other DMD's to false and set Pin2DMD to true.  I am not able to get any display on the Pin2DMD.

Also, is there a way to disable the "topper"?  I don't have a topper but want to use the Backglass.  Setting Topper to Disable does not work and the topper still shows.

Is there ever going to be a feature to flipy the videos so people with Pin2K style cabinets can run toppers or dmds on a flipped monitor?

I'm running the player on desktop mode for the Stranger Things table, having the video in the corner is good enough, but is there any way to make it always on top? As soon as VPX gets focus it's in the background.

Hi, so I have scrolled through countless of forms and threads to get the PinUp player to work. Finally it is working almost, at least to see how some games could be taken to another level very cool :). For the "almost" part I have tried to find the answer, but may blind in all the forms so sorry if this has already been

1. Every time I start a table with a PinUp pack and the plugin is activated, the videos/layers dont get in "order" so I have to ALT+TAB to get them in proper order, why?

2. The PinUp player wont shut down after exit the tables, have followed the steps at http://www.nailbuste...doku.php?id=faq but still have that issu, the service still runs after shunting down the front end.

Have tried to update every software involved, and running pretty good specs on the computer. Also to add is that I dont use the pinup popper front end, but Pinball X if that has something to do with it...

Im also happy to provide any config files or .ini files if that helps.

Thanks for any suggestions!

for 1>  you need to see if the same alt-tab is required when running the same table in vpx editor (not pbx).  if it works outside of frontend then at least we know what it is.

2>  the packs can stay open if you have a 'dirty' close from frontend.  IMO you should figure out which thing is not closing your vpx/b2s/freezy properly.  You can test this by running outside of frontend and then run game and exit out completly from editor to see if pack closes out.  But if you want to force the pack to close and not 'mind' the dirty close then you can use this:  http://www.nailbuste...id=pupb2s_patch

I've done a recent fresh install of pupplayer 1.4.1 and the accompanying B2S driver.

When I run Pup Pack I get "Invalid Pointer Operation" for PupDisplay.exe

Any help?

Thanks,

Been awhile and some testing back and forward, but I installed the latest version of PinUp.

1> The problem is not pressent outside the front end (PinballX)
2> OK so I tried to force the pack to close and added the patch, that made it much worse :) Nothing worked.

When I exit the front end the BG videos are still playing and the PinUpplayer is active until I force it to close in "Task manager"

i had some tables on occasion load up minimized. I changed the numbers i had..don't remember what i just changed them too but.. i think it may have worked...i hope! :: vpx emulator setup and modify a line in the launch script. You will see a line like 'vpxstarter.exe 10 10 60' you want to change that to 'vpxstarter 10 15 60'… you can even try 20 instead of 15 if focus issues still happen.

i think i did 20 20 30..i don't know what they mean

my friend tried to play yesterday and he didn't know what to do. windows can be a real buzzkill like getting ready to play a mame game and then oh wait..i didn't set up the controls for this game yet..we can't play it now.

Hello everyone.

After going through the forums and fixing alot of my issues getting Pinup Player to work. Im almost there.....

With that said, the only thing im having an issue with is the DMD. It just wont display at all. The virtualdmd displays just fine and works. I have all others set to false except for pinup in the DmdDevice.ini

All videos, overlays and underlays work perfect now. They are triggered at the right times and displaying properly. So i believe my dmdext is working correctly.

Anyone have any insight on what I may be doing wrong?

Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem getting pinup player to display the backglass and dmd. My B2S is a fresh install, and the plugins folder is working as I have successfully installed and am running direct output. However, when I go to add the Pinup player B2S plugin, it does not show up as an option, only the direct output plugin. I've confirmed that I have a test log file (as in researching the problem that is relevant I guess) though there are only a few lines of text.

Thanks!

Hello,

I have almost fresh install Pinup Popper with frontend. Instalation is right. VPX tables launch without problem in exclusive Fullscreen Mode, but ... today I have problem with one table - Red and Ted's Road Show (Williams 1994) and b2s backglass for this table. When I launch this table, backglass and DMD show normally, but playfield is not focused, I must press alt+TAB to focus playfield. I launch this table with b2s from VPX directly and no problems, playfield show normally. I use b2s Red and Ted's Road Show for other tables (change file name), and all works fine in Pinup Popper frontend. I use b2s from other table by change name to Red and Ted's Road Show and all works fine. Then:

Red and Ted's Road Show table + Red and Ted's Road Show b2s + Pinup Popper frontend = no playfield focus (playfield is "hidden")

Red and Ted's Road Show table + b2s from other table + PPf = all ok

other table + Red and Ted's Road Show + PPf = all ok

Red and Ted's Road Show table + Red and Ted's Road Show b2s + Visual Pinball directly = all ok

Red and Ted's Road Show table + Red and Ted's Road Show b2s + PPf + disable exclusive Fullscreen Mode = all ok

I use 1920x1080 for playfield and 1620x1200 for backglass, exclusive FM, ddraw in reg is set to 0, I use different options Anti-Alias options, I change vpxstarter in Launch menu Pinup Popper option 30 10 60 to 30 30 60, and nothing.

My machine - Win 10, i5-9400f, MSI GTX 1060 6GB, RAM 16 GB, MSI motherboard.

I record video for this problem:

https://streamable.com/kjsno

Why Red and Ted's Road Show table + Red and Ted's Road Show b2s + Pinup Popper frontend doesn't correctly focus playfield? What I do wrong?

EDIT

Red and Ted's Road Show table + Red and Ted's Road Show b2s + Pinup Popper frontend + record media start (backglass or playfield) not normall launch - all OK and after it table and b2s lauch ok in normall launch

Red and Ted's Road Show table + Red and Ted's Road Show b2s + Pinup Popper fronted + second launch = all ok

Then only first normal launch table doesn't focus playfield.

EDIT2: All over not always work ok, sometimes work, sometimes not.
