Click Right mouse button on backglass and set Grill to Hidden.

Holy $&*@!  Mind...blown.  How come I didn't know that?  Is this only for directb2s style backglasses?  I just started playing with VPX tables this week.  Thanks ganjafarmer!  My online embarrassment is more than outweighed by knowing I can do this now - time to go through my catalog and see what other tables I'm missing out on.

If you set up screen res.txt correctly to include your dmd location, directb2s should hide the grill automatically

Just make the dmd size non-zero.  I have a pin2dmd dmd and set the dmd size to 1x1 on the far right of my backglass monitor, so not visible, but directb2s auto hides the grill.  Here is my screenres.txt

Can anyone help? I cannot get rid of the bottom black info area for the DMD on Scared Stiff VPX. I have set the value of "ShowDMDonly" to "1", I've tried commenting and un-commenting the line, I have all the updated core.vbs, controller.vbs, etc. and none of it works. I'm running VP 10.3. Is this the underlying issue? SS is one of my fav games. Please help if you can.

Did you grab the latest vpinmame from DJRobX over at one of the other sites? I'm pretty sure that solved this problem for me

Remove the comment from the start of the ShowDMDOnly line and leave it set to 1.  I tested it and I can turn on and off the extra dmd data by changing it from 1 to 0

    '.ShowDMDOnly = 1

to
    .ShowDMDOnly = 1

Hello.  I have been looking through the script on this VPX table for any line to run the "B2S Server" to load the directb2s backglass, but I cannot find anything related to that.  Most other scripts have options such as 1,2,3 to call for B2S, VPinmame, etc.  Pike13, I'd love to hear how you made it work.  I have a cabinet setup as well.

Also, I have been trying to no avail to even just get the spider to appear on the playfield during that mode, but I can't get it to show up.

I really like this vpx version, just need to see the Spider.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Controller.vbs handles B2S. Make sure 'Disable B2S' is unchecked in the keybinding menu, and check to see that it's not disabled in Visual Pinball\User\Controller.txt as well.

Thank you nFozzy.  You were absolutely right!  "ForceDisableB2S" was set to 1 in my controller.txt, and it was also checked in the keybinding menu.  The B2S backglass is showing up now.  However the spider is not turning.  The lights do move around correctly.  Is the spider turning not an option yet for this VPX version?

Also, while we're on the subject.  Is there an easy way to force disable B2S on a table by table basis?  Such as a line I can add to any script for a particular table?  I was told running B2S can give some potential frame slowdown on game play.  But in game like Scared Stiff or Safecracker, B2S needs to work for sure.

Looks like I forgot to upload 1.3 here. Woops... In addition to that  here's a minor update. 1.3 had some huge optimization gains so let me know if this helps anyone who had trouble running table before.

Please use the 10.4 beta or newer. This table uses the 3d audio effects, so it will probably give script errors in 10.3

Changelogs:

Version 1.31
Replaced a few light images with better quality ones
soundFX pass with new gain (LVL function should work better now)
Added animated scorecard (Press R in game to bring up the rules)

Version 1.3
Optimization
New GI in 4 flavors: Soft White, Cool White, White, and Colorized
New Boogiemen
New sounds, (please use the 10.4 beta!) new physics
Added (limited) Support for pre-production roms with the kickback
-The aux light board isn't emulated properly, so crate and deadhead LEDs are not working atm.
-these roms have very early code and therefore simplified game rules.
Bugfixed Single Screen Fullscreen support

Made some basic, clean flasher renders to replace the crappy gradient ones I had before. Figured they'd make good common resources so here they are:

In the new version the spider on my backglass doesn't turn.

In the older version 1.1 it works.

[EDIT] I start the table a few times and now the backglass works as it should.

It won't let me paste links here directly, but here's a video showing the attract mode sequence with a custom message I made. Skip to 1:29.

It would be a pain to type out the long link, so I shortened it with Tiny-URL.

I'm running v1.31 on VPX v10.8.0 (64-bit Direct-X).

Table still plays nice (and spider spins and all that). I think there was even an easy early multi-ball which was cool.

HOWEVER, when I Matched at end of game, it actuated my actual physical Replay-Knocker solenoid (instead of just playing a little sound).

In the VPX-Editor DOF-Config, I temporarily had my Knocker set to "Sound Only".

So, how does that even happen?
