This is the most amazingly hypocritical statement I've read yet! Let's break it down:

 

"People should be free to say anything here with respect," YES! I agree. The internet is great and everyone can say anything.

"some people needs to grow up." Wait, didn't you just say we should be free to say anything?

 

"Wishing something is better is not shitting on anything." oh, except for, you know, the thing you wish to be better. If you said about one of my tables "I wish it was better" that would absolutely be shitting on it.

Yup your right I'm just an ass hole b/c I feel it's disrespectful to put down someone else's work.. I guess that makes me a big douchebag to think, this table needs this that table needs that as not shitting on the work someone spent months working on.. If you have never worked on a table I guess you just don't understand how much work and love goes into each one along with how much time is spent on each table... Yes I agree some are better than others but you don't see me or other authors pointing out the flaws of each table or saying well this table needs an ovehaul b/c it's 2 days old.. There are better ways to go about bringing stuff like this up.. It's a shame to see stuff like this but it is just my opinion..

It's one thing to critique or bug report witch is always welcome and very helpful but to just say well that table is old so it needs a do over.. Some of the tables brought up in this very thread I still have on my cab and play quite often and I've never thought once, well this is so out of date someone should just re do it.. In my opinion it's just stupid!

Maybe a topic that would of been more appropriate would of been 'tables I'd like to see done in VPX'. That way there would be no opportunity to say well this table done by this author is so out of date it needs a re do b/c it doesn't have all the new fancy features etc. etc. in my eyes putting someone's work down is shitting on them! No wonder we have so few authors now a days!!!

And fren, I appreciate everything you do but that breakdown was quite lame. What I mean by grow up is to be more mature about all this, not that you should shutup. You two already know what I mean from that other site anyway. Same thing here same people.

It was meant as a way to dig up new ideas for tables to work on. For example Star Gazer. Never knew it existed until watching a video and the guy mentions that is his fav pinball.

If we don't reply we don't fuel the flames :-)

ok... let's rename it... "suggestions for technical upgrades/updates" 

 

plus the hundreds of vp8 tables that need complete graphical updates... I'm always on the hunt for images to make some those out of date vp8 (yes i said it OUT OF DATE...lol) 

but all the said if you want something you have to try and do your part,

find resources <---anyone can do this....

help make the new images

rewrite code

everyone has some sort of skillset to chip-in, if you found this site, you can look for and hope to find resources

 

and again... this is no disrespect... if i was part of this when vp8 was posh... and someone came along years down the road and wanted to update my work, I would feel honored someone cared enough to want to update it...  maybe this is just my opinion... maybe i'm the asshole... maybe I'm the only one that understands why a topic like this exists.....

Now I see where the problem lies with this thread, and I'm sorry I rehashed it. But to assume any of us think these tables are crap is just not true. Like I said before, as VP had advanced (rapidly I might add) certain things are possible now that weren't just a few years ago.

ICP, even you have done MODs of tables, your MODs are the ones on my cab. I'm sure you weren't feeling like the old tables were garbage, but you had the skill to simply build upon the original with updated lighting/flashers and physics overhauls. Your mods have the flashers I like!

Recently LoadedWeapon made almost the same post asking what games we'd like to see MOD'd, I suggested Dungeons and Dragons, simply because I play the table so often. The lighting was a little rough and it was hard to distinguish the PF from the plastics, so he added some different lighting and gave it depth, he added some lens flairs and gave it some pizzazz, but it's still the same game technically. He knocked the whole thing out in a weekend to boot.

Now most of you don't know this, I actually work in the real pinball world. I have access to almost every game on VP, but in real life. I've sent countless photos of plastics and Pf's and BG's to people to update games. I never really thought about it as dumping on the original designer. If I can send cleaner images of games and plastics to improve the original in a slight way, why not?

I guess we all view things differently, and again I'm sorry if offense was taken. It wasn't meant to be that way.

Shawn contributing back to the comunity and sharing your resources is great and always welcome.. There are even sections on this sight and others for you to upload your resources to the comunity...

I think we are all getting our lines crossed here as to why this thread is a problem.. I'm just going to drop it as I already said my piece and how I feel about it..
