It should be the same speed as in VP 9.2.1. If it's not.... well, I don't know, maybe you have some global physics set which lowers the friction or something crazy like that.

Still getting flickering issues with with AA on, so long ago since I read the discussion about it, so assuming AA is a no go zone with DX9?

Assuming you are right, where would one find the default values, in case I messed them up?

You can use FXAA, either the built-in one or from the Nvidia control panel, which should work fine.

MSAA doesn't work currently due to how the renderer works. I hope we can find a solution for that in VP10.

If you load a table and go to Backdrop > Physics and Graphics, there is a field "Override by global physics set", which should be set to 0 to disable the overriding.

Also if your framerate is dramatically different from 9.2.1, that can have a certain effect on the VP9 physics. Check your F11 display in both versions and compare. Use the frame limiter in the Video options (e.g., at 120 fps) and see if anything changes.

I get an error "cannot find scilexeer.dll" ever since installing 9.9.  What did I do wrong?

SciLexer.dll is included in the zipfile.  Extract it to same location as VPinball990.exe.

Did you move the VPinball990.exe file somewhere else?

I installed 9.2.0 months ago and got many tables working fine, I upgraded to 9.9.0 because of dx9 features. now many old tables like T2 have graphics out of place, horizontal and vertical black lines across moving parts on the play field.

now I could load this with 9.2.0 but the frontend lets you start only one type of exe for vp tables.

can I change settings for more compatability or am I doing something else wrong.

btw. I uninstalled 9.2.0 and installed 9.9.0 (full) all the table settings are still ok

T2 Chrome isn't compatible with the DX9 version at this time, it's a known problem. Most other tables should be fine or have only minor glitches which can be easily fixed (mostly draw order and light transparency issues).

The frontends do have options to use different executables for different tables.

primitives are showing up blurry in 9.9.0, as you can see here with the Skyway Toll... in 9.2.1 they are crystal clear.. Its also affecting the primitive rings, they are showing up blurry as well...

Just FYI ICPjuggla, the toll booth and all of WW look fine on my system under 9.9.0. If by rings you are talking about the 3 spinners they look amazingly crisp.  I am running the so called "hacked" pinMAME though other than that it's totally standard.

Well that's weird b/c it's blurry over here... I also noticed the same thing on Laser War with the rings..

By rings I mean the metal rings on the metal rail/ramp

What's your graphics card? Is your driver up to date?

How large is the texture on that skyway toll?

Can you try enabling Force Anisotropic Texture Filtering in the video options? Or, try the same from the NV control panel.

I've been busy working on various tables.. :-)

The problem is each time I work in the editor it ends up freezing on me and I'm losing my work.. I hit save quite often but in later versions of VP this didn't happen like it has been in 9.9.0... It's frustrating and I lost quite a bit of work tonight, I know sometimes VP freezes but I've never had it freeze like this in other versions of VP... :-( also, after a wile of working the editor starts to get really slow on me.. I do go back and forth hitting play a lot to check my work but I've always done that in other versions of VP without problems. Just thought I would report this, maybe other authors are seeing the same thing..

Yes, ICPjuggla, I too have seen VP9.9 crashing much often than the older VP9. Even if I haven't done much editing lately. And I think VP9.9 crashes when editing and running the table to see the changes, and sometimes VP crashes after running a table and going back to the editor (the editor displays a white screen and I need to use the task manager to stop the program). So I always save before running the table. I guess this does not help much fuzzel or mukuste, but I guess the problem may be those memory leaks they are fixing now.

Thx for the reassurance JP.. :-)

I thought I was going crazy over here with all the crashing I've been getting the past week or so..

JP, ICPJuggla:

Can you please try this version and see if it fixes the crashes for you. It's just 990 with the leak fixes from the VP10 branch backported (hooray for git which made this a job of 5 minutes).

I have tried it for about an hour without a crash :) I have loaded 3 vpm tables at the same time with the same editor, edit a little, run a table, edit another, run it, save it, and so on for about hour without a single crash. And for about 15 minutes I have run other tables using several exes at the same time, and no crash. So I think this version is quite solid :) Thanks mukuste!

That's great news, thanks JP! Let's hope it stays like this.

This means we should release an official 9.9.1 version with at least this bugfix, and maybe some other fixes if they come up.
