Thats the reason I asked - I already have a Kinect laying around - so I was going to try that. However, Id rather Just buy your "kit" as it looks alot more plug and play.

but I figured since Im building this from the ground up Id find the best and stick with it...so if the PS3 cams are better = more accurate then Ill be placing an order.

Thanks!

Honestly I would play with kinect and wait and see what the devs do with vp 10. I would hate to provide a kit and not have it supported down the road in the new visual pinball. I'll always have the kits if they end up supporting dual ps3 cams but at this point I'd hold off if I were you.

So are you saying the Kinect is a better solution? Also, I cant find any buzz on the new VP supporting BAM - is that a rumor?

I haven't been able to get a straight answer but Kinect seems to be getting a fair bit of support with BAM users these days.  I always thought the dual ps3 cams were supposed to be better though.

The kinect is cheaper but I'm still worried about how it will perform in low light or if someone else stands next to me when I'm playing - who's head is it going to track?

PS Randr lots of respect for you here with that comment - would be nice if this type of honesty was more prevalent in business.

Ir tracking with dual ps3 cams is better period. It will perform the best and I've provided well over 160 kits the reason I say wait is only due to the visual
Pinball development but really who knows what and when this will happen for vp?

So I finally got my kinect power supply and been messing with this all morning. I cant seem to get it to show any depth. Now I am "testing" it on a 24" lcd monitor until I can buy a 46" tv.

it sees my face but when I do the 3 points it tells me to put an IR LED at each of the 3 points. after I put my face at the 3 points - as in the setup video nothing changes on the playfield.

It is running in arcade mode (so the settings say). which table mode to I need to have it set in in the future pinball video setup?

You "may" have to start fresh or delete .cfg files so you have a clean slate for calibration to stick

it is a fresh install - and I never had it to stick in the first place.

what about the IR LIGHT it keeps asking for in Kinect mode...

It was my fault - I loaded the BAM that came with a table and not the latest off your site. I have it working now - mostly, however my 3d doesnt look like yours on your Kinect setup video. I have depth and all but the playfield seems to move with my head and the higher objects seem to look like they are "hanging from the glass". Im sure its some setting I dont have right, but ive adjusted the y like in your vid and it doesnt change it. is there some special setup in future pinball? which table should I be using? fixed?

Thanks!

Randr I can not wait until I get my cabinet built.  I will surely be ordering one of these for you and you'll be on your way to 300!  Do you have the link where I can go and place an order (gotta run it by the wife first of courses)

Unfortunately I do not have any PS3 cams.  I will await to see if you'll be getting more and go from there.  Do you know of anyone else doing this?

Not sure about anyone else doing it. Sorry

Im just trying to figure out where to find the correct PS3 cams! I went through a whole bunch at the local gamestop - all "look" like the flat lens style...unless im missing something.

I finally got my kinect to work - and have an understanding about the depth. I think that RANDRs solution with the dual ps3 cam setup might be a bit more stable - plus no need to have the lights on.

Cool effect none the less!
