I thought the files were to go into the table folder, Thats where I have them and everything is running smooth (win7x64).

Edit: I just checked the readme with the zip and it clearly states:

"- Unzip all files into your VP tables folder and overwrite already existing files with this new ones."

So I would follow the authors wishes and place in your tables folder for sure.

Thanks for all your hard work herweh!

You're absolutely right, Sly, files should go into the tables folder. But when it's working basically I'm pretty sure this is not the problem. So I didn't wanted to add another 'construction area'.

I'm expecting that this is something OS specific.

Hello Herweh, once again thank you very much for all your hard work...  To answer your question, no i hadn't really done much OS tweaking prior to applying the 1.1.1 update.  There was really no need as everything ran as smooth as butter in exe mode.  I've mucked about quite bit since the 1.1.1 and 1.2 update trying to get things running, but with little success (made quite a mess of things for awhile- nothing a system restore couldn't solve, lol).  But  i do suspect your right about in being OS specific. I'll play around more and see what i can find.  Thanks.

all files should go to tables folder and you have to register them from there

some people reported that removing xml file with table specific settings or just table entry helps in some cases

Anyone have PinemHi FS working with B2S direct, like badcats.  I get an error message  ''is an unexpected token.  The expected token is ';'. Line 873, posiiton 18.

if I comment out the b2s server line and uncomment out the VPinmame.Controller it works fine.

Hello, It appears that the server will not run with koadic's NVoffset code that I have added to some tables. If I rem it out in the script everything runs fine. If I don't I get a Controller.installdir error. Just thought I would post in case someone is having this trouble also.

Hi Conram, thanks for the info. Can anybody tell me where this code is located and what's the background of it?

I will see what I can do about that, with automatically finding the nvram directory... :) which is why I use the controller.installdir

hi guys, great work with this db2s. i love the new possibilities. is there a way i can easily brighten the backglass images? i have noticed that most are very very dark. also i would like to be able to create a brighter screenshot for hyperpin. when i scroll through hyperpin, all my other images are nice and bright, but the db2s are so much darker. do i have to use the backglass designer, or is there a way i can do it through the settings menu?//thanks///sparky

> when i scroll through hyperpin, all of my images are nice and bright, but the db2s are so much darker

best is to run the table, wait for the table to boot up (which usually fires more light in the backglass, to make it brighter, the start picture is with every light off) and then click with the mouse in the backglass to give it the focus. Press "print" to create a screen shot, done.

Note: to do that you need once setup the screenshot modus. For that click in the backglass, press "s" to open settings window and select the path to your hyperpin media/backglass folder. The created screen shot is automatically named based on the direct2bs name, as long this is named following your hyperpin xml file everything is fine, else you need to rename the screenshot.

For me this is the best possible image. The picture in hyperpin looks exactly as the table image.

I even thought about to have the dark (all pictures off) image in hyperpin to give a more realistic table launch, but as you do I prefer bright images in Hyperpin. Using the dark one gives a cool launch effect. The table boots and then enables the light. Like you had a real pinball and power it on...

If the backglass is not bright enough even with all lights on, then maybe your screen is set too dark?

Using the designer the job is normally to use either a dark backglass (or make one darker), so it looks a like a real backglass without lamps.

Then use the lamps to brighten it.

So you could replace (using the designer) the background image, but then the light effects will be drastically reduced...

hi westworld, thanks for the reply.

"best is to run the table, wait for the table to boot up (which usually fires more light in the backglass, to make it brighter, the start picture is with every light off) and then click with the mouse in the backglass to give it the focus. Press "print" to create a screen shot, done."

this is exactly what i do.

"The table boots and then enables the light. Like you had a real pinball and power it on..."
i agree, and have the same thought"
although it is wierd having the table video running, making it look like a powered on machine, while the backglass is off. its like 2 opposite effects.

is there a way for me to extract the undarkened image through the designer?
OR maybe the backglass designers could include an undarkened backglass image with the directb2s file?

Hello

I think I do something wrong or incomplete.

I followed all instruction for installation and set up for dB2S   but I am gettinge a bizar message from VP

It tells me <Object required "controler"> Looks like VP cant find the B2S.server object .

"Set Controler........"  line is correct !   I am running Win7_64  and db2s  server is registered

Any suggestion why VP can't  call the server ?

You need to have the 3 files in your tables folder....

B2SBackglassServerEXE

B2SBackglassServer.dll

B2SBackglassServerRegisterApp <------- once they are in your tables folder you need to run this file to install it..

Then in your script make sure you have this line instead of VPinMame

Set Controller = CreateObject("B2S.Server") needs to be in the script..

Then you need to make sure that your table and db2s have the same name like this..

Al's Garage Band.vpt

Al's Garage Band.directb2s

Finally I decided to try this fantastic program with ST25, the animation of the transporter is incredible.
When I click on the DMD the Backglass disappears behind the Backdrop, the same thing happens to the second launch of the table.
Closing and reopening the VP all comes back to run correctly.
This happens with a single screen.

Thank you very much Herweh for this amazing program and easy to use.
