Yeah but it was a good one. Im much more pleased with this change and it suits the machine better in my opinion also.
Cant wait for this thing to wrap up. Im itching to start on my next project.

Looks great to me!! You didn't have to change it on my account, it was just my opinion.

Yeah I probably will eventually mod this and release a full screen hi-res version or something. there wouldnt be that much that I would need to mod to make it happen.

just an image update. got the tree and moon back on the playfield, got the house changed to a church, just need to make a texture for it.
Got a sign above the right ramp now with a light. I actually raised the whole upper playfield a bit. Ramps are probably 20 units taller now. Also got the siderails roughed out. Dropped the zombie head closer to the playfield just to make it appear more possible to fit under glass.

more done on the playfield. playfield graphic is about 85% done now id say. Church lower half has a preliminary texture on it and I cleaned up a few extra tiny bugs that I noticed. The outlane kickers deactivate after the 1st ball drains during the Zombie 3 ball multiball.
I should have something more to post tomorrow.

I am guessing that you didn't like my side rails
let me know if you want any more help on it
as I would need your copy since you redid so much

maybe for a future pin? but the church is nice too
non-denominational I am guessing or does it only cater to the undead? whistle.gif

Both house and church are non dimensional. Both are physically build within VP. I just thought the church would fit the overall theme better and it was actually my original plan. That and after I added the crypt I felt the house was too similar in shape. I still have the house though, I save all major changes in a new file in case something goes drastically wrong.

Ok so I need everyone thats interested to download this one and put a few games through it. The coding for the game itself is complete aside from lighting events and sounds and whatnot. Nothing as far as gameplay though will be changed from here on in except I will add a tilt function but since Im still troubleshooting stuff I havent put it in yet..
I just need to have people check everything out and make sure you dont run across any bugs or whatnot.

Like most JPSalas tables. 3 is used to add coins, and 1 is used to start. Everything else is default.
Let me know what you think.

Run for your lives!... heh
I like the inline drop targets.
As for feedback - make sure you include the font you used for the textboxes - without it installed it defaults to a different font which doesn't fit at the specified point size.

Ah good call. I assume I just have to add it to the zip file once I actually post the table?

Also I realized myself that I didn't reset the table between games. That will be resolved shortly.

I'll run it through the wringer today
and let you know if everything is up to snuff
do you need any more sound effects?
I still have tons of sound clips for it

man lighting makes a pretty significant difference. I took some time to add some additional lights and code to make the drop target lighting more realistic which I think paid off. Quick screenshot

then send it to me for added sound effects
then I will send it back to you for your approval
also I can do textures if you want help with the buildings or anything

I just had a go with it, and I must say that I am impressed with the large amount of shots possible from any flipper! smile.gif The hidden routes in the upper playfield are very cool as well, kind of maze-y.
The flow is very good, so good even, that I only had very few instances in which I had the ball cradled.

Have you implemented any three-way combos? If not, then here is an idea. smile.gif
Start with a shot from the left flipper to the little turnaround ramp. Then, from the upper flipper, shoot the large upper ramp and the ball should return to the right flipper (though it doesn't always do this for me). Finally, finish up the combo with a satisfying shot to the zombie's head!

I got some criticism though, but nothing too harsh smile.gif
The ball seems a bit slow in rolling down the table slope and the flippers seem a little slow as well.
Furthermore, there seems to be a visible black line between the "playfield part" and the "pop-up part" of the zombie head. Get rid of that line, and the illusion is perfect smile.gif

Very, very cool table!

I got a final score of 2,462,000 by the way.

EDIT: May I add that I got used to the physics quite quickly though! They are not game-breakingly bad, just a bit slow smile.gif

Hey Man, first off, Thanks for the CRITS! I have been looking for exactly this kind of post.

I love the 3 way combo suggestion and I can easily put that together. I had thought of similar with a shot through the zombies mouth, around the cop car loop and then into the church. Theres actually a light thats hidden behind the crypt that tells you when that shot will lead to the lower right flipper for the headshot opportunity but thats really easily changable with a bit of code. Typically thats opened when the ball goes through the left outer inlane to the flipper. I really need to make that more obvious though.
Maybe Ill put this in and call it the "Decidetto Combo".

The black line that you mention on the zombie head. Can you see it in the latest screenshot? Is it the one in the corner of his mouth that youre referring to? Ill have to see what I can do. If anything I can probably do a couple cheap tricks and get rid of it.

As for the physics Im totally interested in speeding the game up. especially since its near complete. I had kept it slow intentionally as I worked out all the details of the table. If you would like to play around with the values though and come up with a suggestion to what feels good that would be awesome. Ive gotten so used to it and I would appreciate some external input for sure.

that may be my fault as I did change the table angle a bit
for better visibility to the back of the pin
and I am not sure if he is using my tweaked version or his
but when he sends it to me for sound and graphics tweaking
I will check the ball speed as it travels around the table
as I also thought the ball hangs up a bit in certain kickers
and around some of the play field posts
I do love the layout though as no matter where the ball rolls
it seems to hit something gaining points along the way
no dead spots
hey any thought as to what name goes onto the Mausoleum building?
'kardashian' comes to mind! biggrin.gif

I designed it off an actual mausoleum for the Woolworth family but I thought it would be funny to put "Romero" or something like that on there heh. To be honest I hadnt put that much thought into it yet.

I still need to put a gargoyle on the left and right of the door above the targets. those should be really easy additions though.
