Is there an AutoPOV replacement?

I’m also interested in an autopov replacement, I have a .pov for each table that is ignored by latest beta 6/7 and redoing them all would take a long time because creating a new table .ini starts with the window super zoomed in, and the zooming out speed is super slow.

Thanks for any tips!

If there isn't an autopov feature, you could set pov for a table and output the .ini file. rename the .ini file to "default" (or whatever you want) then write a .bat file to find all the .vpx files in the folder, copy the default.ini and rename them accordingly. I did it - as a dektop player I ended up tweaking all the tables a tiny bit, but it faster than from scratch.

the first time around it didn't work out, so i also wrote a .bat to remove the ini files as well, although you could easily do that in the file explorer without the bat.

Can someone please explain to me how to darken and lighten the tables now that the slider has moved. I've tried. I've built this table with daytime bright textures and I used to just adjust the slider to darken the table it doesnt seem to have any effect for me at this point.

I'm not a big fan of the new layout for this... not sure why it wasn't just placed in the "lighting" section for the tables.  Last time I checked, though, it was working... but what you have to do is, in video options, at the top under "edited settings" change it to "specific table overrides", then under "environment lighting" check "override table global lighting", move the slider, then don't forget to save changes in the lower right.  It's a lot of fidgeting and you have to do it over if you aren't satisfied with the results.  I get that specific table overrides are supposed to let you easily generate a table specific .ini, which is a good thing, but that setting seems better off in the table lighting section.

Thanks
I'll try that.
Another strange behavior im seeing is with the gate object.
When I set a close angle that is not 0. The gate switches the direction of the close angle each time I restart the table.
The one way gates at the tip os some tables ... blackout for example the gate plate doesnt fall all the way down to zero is sits around 15 or20 degrees I guess to give it some spring when it gets hitthe wrong directio .
So in blackout I set my gate close angle to 20 degrees at first it will rest at 20 degrees next restart of the table it is resting at =-20 degrees... and switches on each restart of the table.
Screenshot shows the second restart of the table after setting the 2 top gates to close angle of 20. They are one way gates. If you look at the gate between the top lanes and the droptarget bank you can see it at - 20 degrees

I'm seeing some strange vertical bands within the solid black areas on the playfield. Looks like noise of some kind because these bands have a very slight flicker to them. It's on some tables, but not others.

Any idea what's causing this?

Issue solved. Looks like I now have to press 1 (start) to save and create .ini file.

I'm having an issue with "Adjust User Settings". No matter what changes I make (View Layout Mode, Inclination, Table xyz Scale and so on) nothing will save.

Playing on my desktop.

Version 10.8.0 Beta 7 (Rev. 1807) 32bit and 64bit.

Just hit F12 with the table loaded and flipper to the right or left, there you will see the day/night slider. Works great and don't forget to try the "filmic" curve tonemapper, it looks great on some tables.

mind sharing the BAT ... would help others not as script savvy save a lot of time :) ... thank you!

I'm sure some people were already aware of this, but I found out that the github actions labeled as "10.8.1" are actually a separate branch from "master" and will be much more unstable and have more bugs.  So, we want the latest action labeled "master" and avoid the actions labeled "10.8.1" (unless you are a real glutton for punishment).

It sounds like it just means the more experimental stuff will go in 10.8.1 while 10.8 is refined.

"Global physics" setting not allowing override on v1807.

Looks like when I select a "global physics" in the table properties, the physics as seen in the table properties is still being used. I am not seeing an override to the settings within global physics.

To be fair, I only checked this on table friction, but its possible the others are broke too. This once happened back in 10.7, and it was an easy fix.

Is anyone else having physics issues on the latest Beta, specifically on JPSalas Attack from Mars and VPW Tommy tables.

With the default table settings, the ball doesn't even get on the playfield. Seems like too much gravity. Both tables play fine on 10.7
