Thanks for confirming.  I've opened a trouble ticket for this #1158.

Yeah just confirming this as well. I just updated and played a few tables and all was good until I hit several where I could not launch the ball, reverted to a backup of vpx and all was fine so I checked this thread and yep, seems the same issues.

It's fixed.  You can read the notes on that closed trouble ticket # 1158 if you want details.

I'm running into an issue with my VPX setup with beta 6 on my laptop (desktop works fine)...when running in VR.  I'm running the 64bit beta6 GL...

The issue seems to be preventing me from seeing the PupDMD of our table.  I tried with Cactus Canyon and the dialog came up but went away and the table was fine in VR, dmd showed (although not PupDMD)

I get a dialog which pops up: Capture: Failed to create the duplication output.  This is the only clue I have.

I've compared settings between my desktop and my laptop and I'm not seeing the difference.  I did see someone mentioned this in this thread before but there didn't seem to be any info on resolution.

I tried reinstalling Oculus software but didn't help

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you!!

I just stepped into VR world and I have strange issue - not sure if this is related to my setup or with Visual Pinball itself.

My setup - gaming laptop, Windows 11, Visual Pinball 64bit (GL) latest build. freezy, flexDMD, vpinmame - latest versions.

Normally, everything runs very smooth and VR experience is great. However, whenever external DMD (flexdmd or ultradmd) is utilized (e.g. VPW Game of Thrones), DMD is not shown in VR but only on desktop screen.

I tried enabling Capture external DMD in VR Settings but I get strange popup:

Visual Pinball Error: Failed to create duplication output

Same happens when I enable external DMD in VPinMAME settings.

What could be the reason for this?

Are you the same from discord IgaBiva ? He has the same issue as. I will do a test on my laptop today. It has 2 video cards as well. Not sure if have an extra link cable

Hi - yes, it is me :)

Like I wrote, I have issues only with external DMDs - freezy or flexdmd. In 95% of other tables, everything is OK, including Bally Game Show that you have posted.

I also tried some tables which should work with puppacks (e. Total Nuclear Annihilation by VPW) and similar thing here - pup is shown only on a desktop

Did you ever figure out how to resolve the issue with the Capture: Failed to create the duplication output?

I am getting it..just started a thread on here for it... I cannot see my Popper pupdmd in VR on my laptop

So is it best to keep using the official Beta 6 Rev. 1786 version and fix this issue table by table when it occurs or update to the current Rev. 1804 in the GitHub actions tab. The developer noted that the revisions in the actions tab are supposed to only be used for testing.

If you used the broken revision it would just keep happening.  It's fine to use the revisions from the actions tab, you just want to be aware that other issues could arise as you go along because it's in development.  Basically everyone here is using those new revisions as they come out with a gentlemen's agreement not to complain too much if we run into new problems.

Not sure where this bug stems from. i have started a thread here.

Baller Installer "BETA" Builds Bonanza! November 2023 - Visual Pinball - VPForums.org

Having upgraded with Davids new baller installer, would anyone know the new setting for adjusting the camera setting it was F12 but that just closes back to playing now

but also feel that one of the developers here may take it on board as to where it stems from.

I'm wondering if the same update that broke sprites (some LUT selector texts) staying on top of the playfield also broke Freezy virtual DMD staying on top in desktop mode?  Anyone else notice this?

Since I can't get my cursor back during play no matter what I do, I came up with some workarounds. Let me know if something will hurt my setup or won't work. My goal is to adjust the rom settings via the F6 key. Since I have no cursor during play, I can't see to check or uncheck any boxes when I open the F6 menu.

1- Edit the NVRAM. I'm not sure how to do this and when I open it with notepad it looks like gibberish.

2- Borrow the NVRAMS from my vp9 cab backup files. (Will this work?)

3- Open the table in 10.72 and access the F6 menu without saving the table.

Last week I had an issue on my gaming laptop where on VPX my PUP DMD would not show in VR.  On Future Pinball the table wouldn't show in the VR.  After multiple searches, working with various folks, I finally stumbled upon something.

The gaming laptop has two video cards in it.  This confuses all the software and wouldn't let things show.  There is an issue on the github for VPX GL, where someone else had the issue and I added my notes.

This morning I went into the bios of my laptop and changed the video card setting from HYBRID to Discreet.  I rebooted and both VPX with PUPDMD/ExternalDMD/etc and Fututre Pinball works!

I'm hoping this info finds its way to others who may run into the same problem.

Hi all,
today Ive installed the beta 1805 on my tablet (Samsung 12,2" T976B).
Is somewhere a description, how to controll VPin via touch? Some things I've found out via trial and error.
In this moment I haven't install any table, so I try only the included testtable. It is normal, that the flippers can locked in the upper position, if I move the finger from up to down in the flipper area?

With a file explorer I have no naccess into the subdirectory /Android/data. If there is an ini file to edit ...this one is only possible for a user via USB possible (OS told me:Rules of Android)

On other hand: the tablet is not the slowes one...but also in the testtable I can reach only between 19-20 fps.. (In the Tablettsettings Pic frequency = Standard) (High means 120Hz)

Hi super guys ;)

I have errors with the beta6 versions x32 and x64, differents errors :

with the x32, vpinball crashs when i quit the game, after clicking on quit to editor.

with the x64, with the same table (Alien or Goldeneye VPW), i have an error at first time it show to me a script line : Controller.B2SSetData 90, 1 or Controller.B2SSetData 90, 0

and if i put a quote before it makes the same error with line 1...

"Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
Parameter name: index"
i've updated the b2s server 2.1.0 and 2.1.1

Thanks for your help ;)

Following last beta 6 release, we have pushed some fixes that led to the new Beta 7:

- finished the new tournament support,

- fixed the ball rendering issues (ball trail and antistrech)

- fixed a few errors regarding support of legacy POV files

- fixed some rendering ordering issues (DMD and such being behind playfield)

- minor additional cleanups

Grab it here: https://github.com/v....0-1807-39824d6

As for the known bugs:

- SMAA is still out of order

- Windows order (popup, focus,...) comes as it comes depending on your Window version, etc

- Some VR quircks (for example capture is hacky by design, some little rendering issues)

Please read the changelog as it explains some of the breaking changes (like the POV file being deprecated, removal of hacky antistretch for another hacky antistrech, ...) which seems to be things that are not always understood and may be mistakenly considered as bugs.

Note: With this beta, 10.8 will start a real 'beta' phase, that is to say no new features will be added to it, only bugfixes in order to finally have a release. Changes will be pushed in another 'branch' called 10.8.1 which can be seen in the GitHub action builds. This new branch is absolute pre-alpha and will face lots of breaking change. If you want you can test it but It is strongly advise against editing/saving a table with it. You may break the table & loose your work.

Just upgraded from Beta 5 to 6 and then to 7, first impressions:

- Some options moved to "preferences", takes some getting used to but offers more per-table tweaks.

- Night/day slider in preferences doesn't work, I have to use the "adjust user settings" mode (F6) which is almost impossible to adjust precisely  with the flipper/shift keys.

- On my PC, Alternative Depth Buffer processing is still completely broken on a lot of tables, turning it off produces sawtooth type artifacts to varying degrees and produces aliasing (perhaps it disables driver level MSAA).

ADBP works correctly in 10.6.2 and 10.7.3.

- ADBP does function on VPW's Guns N' Roses, but introduces a noticeably blurry and bloomy picture in Beta 6 and 7 while Beta 5 looks fine in this regard.

On this table the ROM sound is clearly distorted in Beta 6 and 7, not in Beta 5.

- The new ini system causes bloat and a messy look in the table folders, they'd double in visual size if I'd tweak and export settings on all the tables.

At least for the moment I'm keeping Beta 5 handy.

[edit]

ROM sound distortion seems to have resolved itself somehow.

I do notice that on the GNR table dynamic screen space reflections are rather heavy on the frame rate in Beta 7; no issue in Beta 5 (perhaps these reflections aren't enabled there?).

[/edit]

i'm still on 10.8.0-711-580076d-Release-win-x64 and have no issues, i really only wanted the merged VR and it's been splendid for a while now. think i'll stay there until release as it looks like speed is picking up. just wanted to thank everyone involved for all their hard work. if i had a little more free time i'd help check stuff.

Anyone having trouble with pups not closing when exiting a table?  Had to go back to #1731 build for everything to close. Also I've noticed when editing POV on a table on screen, when I exit the new values aren't being changed on the editor itself, they just stay the same.
