Sure was fun!

...and this game even more! Scared Stiff five times, Spider Champion (but only once...darn!) and tilted only twice, unlike in my usual exuberant efforts. With a few spider-champs in the last four weeks, this one makes eight; like others, it didn't register.....but the score did, and now it's break time!

Hi Gregg,

Congrats on the score...
Didn't see your previous post unfortunately....otherwise i would have explained sooner

The spider champion was sort of a gamble if it would work as i didn't have an nvram with that.
As most people will use the same initials i had to have another check on whether it is a new one being entered.
I used a bit of the time or date for that but clearly it doesn't work well

With afm ruler of the universe you have the re-elected number....that why that one works better.

Just to let you know why it doesn't register

Game on my friend......what is your next goal ?

Game on my friend......what is your next goal ?

Well, I encountered SS while I was moving through the Challenges and by the time I was able to hit 30M, I felt the potential for more (unlike some games I want to play once and be gone) and got sidetracked / addicted.....so with nothing particular in mind, I guess it's back to the Challenges:boxing: <_<

I wish I knew such things as 'nvram; how and why', so maybe I'd know what questions to askYou say you "didn't have an nvram with that (Spider Champ)".....would deleting (and creating new) that file as with AFM's Martian Champion have a bearing? (Losing local high scores wouldn't hurt, since there are more where they came from)

We'll always have Paris screenshots.....

Cheers, Dna:drinks:

I think a new nvram would help as the initials are different.
But the first game you start after removing the nvram wouldn't register the score.
So the first time you start the game and the nvram will be created again you should just exit and then start the game again.

Cheers my friend , hoping to see a lot more scores from you......especially the special ones......medieval madness king of the realm anyone......hint hint

What initials do you mean.....the ones that identify the player? I don't think I can part with my tried-and-true 'GMP'  :shok:   Of course, I haven't learned how to open and read nvrams yet. I did download something called FilePro (EDIT: FileViewPro), but when I ran it, it took over a whole boatload of filetypes and wouldn't allow reading content unless I registered---what comes next? Better yet, what do you use?

If you use a new nvram , the initials on spider champion will be the default ones.
Not GMP so as you would make it to spiderchampion and set it to GMP it will probably register

Hmmmm..... :hmm: Aren't the default initials blanks / not yet selected? Maybe if I alternated GMP and  __ __ __?

I think I'll call a meeting of the board :bar4:

Get'em drunk and take advantage of them. :tongue3:

Actually, I've looked into reading nvram a few times, but always got sidetracked. In this case, a clue as to how my second Spider Champ registered---with the same GMP---but not the third and subsequent ones. Now to find hxd.....and uninstall FileViewPro.

EDIT: There are several download sites per square inch; have you a preference?

Well, 185M was an OK score (10:06:17), but a new nvram got the spider Champion to register, and that's what I wanted to find out. However, I violated one of my own rules (don't change or fix too many items at once or you won't know which item got it working) and tried to leave the initials blank---when I set the third 'blank', the initials defaulted to one of the preset entities (MAB). Maybe I can move MAB off the list with GMP and have that work, too.....?

Haven't dl'ed HxD yet, but someday..... :drinks:

Yes , you don't need to blank the initials.
As long as its not GMP before it will register.

There are checksums on the initials so changing them without the checksums will result in a reset

Well, as I mused two posts back, I got Spider Champion to register with GMP again (Great---I'm still ME!) so either alternation or plain non-repetition solve the issue.

If the Special Scores fairy  custodian  Curator is feeling charitable, maybe that '4' will become a '9' overnight.

Now if I can just raise my average.....

"Pling", indeed; thank you, sir! Now, with 23 score submissions already, i should probably move over and let somebody else play.

Over four months since the previous high score, I finally settled back in; Scared Stiff six times, Spider Champion twice (about halfway to a third), Deadhead/saucer value 2.3 Million, and at least eight Extra Balls (but, to this date I have still never earned the one at 12X bonus.....)

After saying goodbye to our longtime friend, this game helps. Rest In Peace, sleepy.

After a bit of a hiatus it was nice to see Pinemhi still out there.  And with new challenges! Thanks for the work!
