QUOTE (ANDROID @ Apr 21 2011, 10:13 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
HIGH SCORES will be updated and posted Tommorrow, THANKS!!!

FOR ALL HIGH SCORE UPLOADS:
Please send ALL the information:
1) TABLE
2) AUTHOR/s
3) VP Version
4) Table Version/ This part is often left off but so important as well
5) Score
6) Initials/ This part is often left off but so important as well

It is too hard to research every new post with little or no information. tapping.gif I have to take the table picture and compare it to previous tables, versions, authors, off site tables etc etc. whtflag.gif Everyone has to put in some time, your's is no more precious than mine! Don't get me wrong, I don't mind updating, adding, and congratulating new scores when they occur, but it is so much easier to list when all the INFO is listed. If you don't know, check out the table in the search engine provided here. This also helps me to add NEW tables and create a new ENTRY.
If this trend continues and you dont see your score listed, you will know why, and you will have to repost with ALL the information. I will leave the rest to you. Your cooperation in this is GREATLY APPRECIATED
PLEASE COPY AND TRANSLATE if your ENGLISH is NOT very good!!!! dblthumb.gif

FULL SCREEN and 16:9 USERS: I am eventually going to have to start a FS/16:9 High Score Spreadsheet/PDF file as the tables are modded by so many people who change the original settings, as part of their FS table builds. plus with the impulse/plunger settings/nudging. OF course the same rules apply. If VPforums.org endorses/posts the table in their catagories than it will be listed when a High Score comes in.

VP9 VERSIONS: With JP Salas new updates to his tables within VP9 for alpha transparency, some adjustments have been made. So it is very important to complete the HIGH SCORE UPLOAD form (1-6), eventually I will have to list both versions or separate the two within one column with an *. OF COURSE we all welcome JP's great tables and upgrades clapping.gif , but some changes/versions are minor/graphics and some are major/physics etc. If you feel a table is drastically easier or harder than a previous VP9 version, than PLEASE post your opinions on those differences as it may lead to a different listing/column if they differ by a substantial margin.

ERRORS: Please EVERYONE check their scores and let me know if there are anything wrong, I am a fairly new user of EXCEL, but I am getting more experience as I tinker with it. One of the problems with sharing the Excel is the way the changes have or have not been made or the Sorting of scores. I have had to UNshare the files so I can sort within the columns/macros and there have been times I did some major updating only to open the spreadsheet again and find it reverted back to where it was before I updated. Yes, I do save them before closing even when it doesn't prompt me, and I have it save changes every five minutes incase something closes accidentally, but sh%t happens!!

I want this to be fun, and challenging, and look forward to all scores whether they are the best listed or not!!!
THANKS to all members!!!
ANDY aka ANDROID

Hi Android,

Thanks for all the hard work! I really like the combo of Sabbat keeping score of the #1 scores on the Leaderboards and you tallying the bigger lists. This way we can all share some of the fame, because there are some hardcore HS people here (and you're one of them!!) who put some tables out of reach.
What I wanted to ask if you want the info literally in 1-6 form as you have posted, or if it's allright to provide all the data like I have done a couple of posts above. I guess the first option is better for you? Maybe it's possible to pre-generate these lines in this thread? That way people are encouraged to provide all the data and in a orderly manner. That's probably up to Noah and the moderators, just an idea.
Thanks again, and I for one am all for you being busy with this HS job, because that way you don't have time to get ridiculous HS's on my favorite tables..... tongue3.gif whtflag.gif

Bolt: I have your high score listed. It is next to the 16:9 X-Files listing. I have it set for 8-1/2 x 14 legal paper and you may need to adjust your pdf viewer down to 61-75% view size to see the listings on the far right? It is the last entry. I just downloaded the link myself and checked. smile.gif

Slam23: HAHAHAHAHA!!!! You are absolutely right, I probably lose a high score or two a week by doing this but, I think if we waited till Noah has the time to do this, especially with his cabinet sales, and website, carrrying the brunt of his time, that we might lose the friendly drinks.gif competitions.

Slam23 and Everyone else!!: You don't have to number your entries but If you see my last High Score entries, that's a good example of what I am looking for. All six are important though, I keep all of JP's releases even the ones he converted to 9.1.1 from V9 and V8, cause you never know what is the better PLAYING table!!!

Slam23: Dammit I got your initials wrong on the LOTR FS table, I gave it to your buddy Bolt. pardon.gif

Cow Poke: I thought I was playing the same table with High Scores by Ferric18 and Dedrok, until I wrote down the author was listed as Robair and RC1. Fernando updated Robair's original from 2002 in March of 2009. You will find the graphics much improved, though I am sure the table is easier. Give it a try and BEAT ME!!!

Genie: I would love to have Genie with a 7 digit rom, as I am sure Ferric18 had to back off and drain right before a million. I thought I had the high score, till he pulled that bombshell out. Great Job.

What is everyone liking to play in VP9? Is the new Flash Gordon table fun/challenging?

More modern table high scores take more time, and with Noah and others new found interest in EM's I thought I would try to get my GAG/name up on some of my old favorite Gottlieb EM's, but now I am hungry to play a great looking VP9 that I haven't tried. So many lovers, so little time!! juggle.gif

Well, that's just another good example of my bad HS karma smile.gif ....just wait some time and this GRAVE smile.gif error will correct itself, Bolt is another HS monster that trumped my what I thought near unbeatable 830M on the VP8 version of LOTR (he scored around 900M).....I'm actually up to around 400M at the moment, but I'll wait with posting to see if I can get higher than that. In the mean time, back to playing!!

D@MN!!

Had to start with that because I had a monster game on JPSalas LOTR FS 2.3 and then with 2 balls left it crashed on me because of an overload on the Sword Locks..... shok.gif cray.gif mega_shok.gif
ANDROID stats:
1. LOTR FS
2. JPSalas
3. VP 9.12
4. Latest version: 2.3
5. --> 582.004.460
6. JOR

I was totally "in the Zone" on this one. I completed TTT MB 3x, FOTR MB 2x and -yes!- ROTK MB 1x. Collected all Elven Gifts including Super Ring Frenzy Multiball. Went There and Back Again for 45M but missed the last shot before the time expired. I won all modes (hence the Gifts) and had about 4 extra balls (7th tower hit, Elven Gift, won Ring Multiball and collected enough Ring Insert Shots during a Ring Frenzy for an extra ball). Gollum MB was my best friend, especially for resurrecting all the Movie MB's that drained to one ball. I owned the Add-a-Ball Palantir option. Best bonus multiplier I saw on one ball was 45x. I didn't destroy any Rings though, which is funny because that usually happens before I complete ROTK MB. So with 2 balls left this could have been over 600M easily, maybe even 700M.....well, can't dwell on the past,

Wow, Great game Slam23, I remember playing the heck out of LOTR, but had trouble with the left ramp in the middle couldn't hit it to save my life and sometimes if the sword shot wasnt strong enough it would burn down the middle. I will have to try it again, though I think my all time high is only around 150million.

It pisses me off that I can't play with the alpha transparent ramps, cause ofmy ATI card. But at least I can play them halfway decent with the lights and rarely any stutter.

Well I guess it pays off to be pissed off!! After the debacle game I had yesterday that locked up on me with 2 balls left and already near the 600M, I came back with a vengeance today! I think this one is gonna tough to be beat because for me this was a couple of years in the making, from VP8 onward. I know Bolt could do it though, because he already had 900M, but that was also in the good old VP8 days.

I proudly present my new Grand Champion score on LOTR (FS JPSalas version 2.3): --> 1.133.375.960 <-- (JOR)

This is the first time that I topped 1B on LOTR. I already had passed 800M when I reached Valinor Multiball for the first time. This is the grand wizard mode of LOTR which can only be reached by (I quote liberally from the rulesheet at pinball.org):

1) Complete FOTR MB, achieve Super Jackpot for an Elf Gift at minimum
2) Complete TTT MB, achieve Super Jackpot for an Elf Gift at minimum
3) Complete ROTK MB, achieve Super Jackpot for an Elf Gift at minimum
4) Play all 6 Rings Modes (Completion not required)
5) Play There and Back Again (Completion not required)
6) Collect all six Elf Gifts
7) Destroy the Ring (this has to be done in order, if you destroy the Ring before 1-6, everything resets!!)

A new music piece (very beautiful!) started, the DMD displayed a nice graphic (see attached pic) and I got a 4-ball multiball (not sure if this was augmented by Gollum MB, but I think not) with a generous ball saver. This ball saver seemed to be replenished a couple of times, probably by a lit Palantir shot. Because I was focused on scoring big, I just kept my concentration at keeping balls in play. It looked like the whole playfield was slowy strobing and I thought all the major shots were lit. It looked a bit like how a combination of Ring Frenzy and Victory Laps would work: made shots seemed to get unlit and get added to a jackpot, and then a specific shot (my guess would be the Barad-Dur shot but it also could have been the central Ring Shot) gives the total jackpot bonus. I saw a lot of nice jackpot scores pass, as big as 5M or 7M at a time, sometimes a lot less (which seem to point towards aforementioned setup). It may also be that the major shots themselves would be worth that much, and looking at my total Valinor score, that may just be the case: anyway Valinor MB gave me 345M (!) which pushed me over the 1B score. Normal play resumed when I drained to one ball. I was as you can guess giddy all the time, just to have reached Valinor, but I guess I played a respectable Valinor MB too!

The rest of the game was not that special at all. I had a slow start, even thinking of quitting when I drained my first ball at around 45M. I also missed completing a couple of modes by one or two shots, so I felt a bit out of synch. But somewhere in the second ball I got going and really got hot at the movie MB's, using Gollum to resurrect them when drained to one ball and hitting the add-a-ball without a fault. This time I got all of them twice, and reached Valinor on the second run of them. I got extra balls from the usual suspects (7th Barad-dur hit, Elven Gift, and Ring Frenzy). I now can confirm that normal Ring Frenzy gives a 2nd extra ball when completed again (although the minimum requisite is still unclear for me: it seems you have to score at least 2 shots to each Ring insert shot, maybe some of them 3). This may be unlimited. There and Back again gave 37M with one last shot lit, then I drained. The best moment for me (besides reaching Valinor offcourse!) came when my 3,5 year old daughter stood beside me and began questioning what I was doing, while I was playing Valinor MB, she asked me "why are you smiling so much daddy?". It reminded me a bit of the scene in The King of Kong when Steve Wiebe was on his way to his first world champion HS on Donkey Kong and his son came screaming down the stairs, asking to get his behind wiped..... smile.gif

Well, this is probably it for me on LOTR for quite some time, that's always the sad part of getting such a high score. It robs me of motivation to do it again. So fellow pinheads, I formally challenge you all to get this one beat so I must return! And thanks for sticking with me in a post that got way too long..... smile.gif

Slam23

PS: to avoid a potential spoiler for people who want to see the Valinor start screen for themselves, just don't click on the attached pics (I don't know ho to "spoiler"-hide them)

I don't know what to say, but this day I seem to have incredible form. I just fired up LOTR to see my last score again (I know...but I really had to see it! smile.gif ), and before I knew it, I started a game against better judgment....and I bettered my own GC score again! It was almost a mirror game to the first one, again reaching Valinor MB (twice on one day!) with the second Ring destroyed.

VP 9.12 JPSalas LOTR 2.3 FS --> 1.467.492.530 (JOR) <--

I now have some more information about Valinor (it actually tells you before the MB starts, the first time I "double-flippered" those screens away I think, as I often do with the Mode introductions):
- Everything scores "super", Shire awards Mystery Awards (could there even be an extra ball?)
- Super Jackpots are lit, and when you combine them they score even higher, but I don't know how this works exactly (multipliers?)
- The Central Ring Shot and Barad-dur relit the Jackpots
- There is a way to add balls and Barad-dur had something to do with it, but I'm not sure it's as simple as hitting Palantir after Barad-dur
- This time I didn't see my ball saver relit, maybe the first time around it had to do with Shire or Palantir ball saver awards I got without noticing
- The highest Super Jackpot I saw (in a combo with one or two others) was 18M

I think I played for about an hour this time, and the one thing that stood out from this game was that I reached 450M on my first ball. Then I used up 1 or 2 extra balls and while still being on ball one, I reached 1B. I almost cycled the Elven Gifts and Modes twice. I also completed There and Back again this time, using Gollum MB to speed things up. I knew the end award would be 5M which I think is a bit lame for the precision shooting it involves, also the timer doesn't pause when the ball is up in the bumper area. But hey, I won't complain about anything this day!
