I was messing with it earlier on my Baby Pin-Bot remake. Moved to the video settings.

Edited: Go to the camera mode. Night/Day is working from here. Broken on the Video settings.

did the day/night slider move somewhere else.  in v1722 table propertiers no longer has a user yab

It looks like it's been moved to video options, which now has a global and table specific switch at the top, and then the slider is in the environment settings at the bottom.  Might take a little getting used to.  I think they have some long game plan for the new settings changes, but not sure how it's going to look in the end.

How do I take the  "window mode" POV below and import those settings into a different table? Here are the settings that I want to start with for all DMD tables:

untitled5.png

The POV export seems to be much different and is not exporting in the form of a .pov any longer. It seems to be exporting as a .ini file instead. I would like to simply load a table, import a file that sets the table to the setting seen above. Is this possible?

Does the current POV import actually import a .pov file or a .ini file?

Thanks

export the POV, in ini form

Rename it to name of other table you want to apply it to?

I've seen a few references to "tweak mode" on github recently... is this just what they are calling the interactive camera/light mode now, or is it something new I don't know about?

Tried that. The settings did not carryover as expected.

I then manually inputted the settings into a different table and pressed start to store them. They did take at that point. But it appears that a copy/rename from an existing .ini does not work. Maybe someone else can verify.

I just again tried to use the import of a generic POV (window mode), and that did nothing. So I think at this time, all the POVs (window mode) need to be manually done one at a time. Pretty sure they are going to make this happen, but as of right now, I dont think thats possible. Someone please correct me if I am missing something here.

there is a thing with window mode, where you are supposed to calibrate you screen and enter the values

i cant read the damned ruler though

not entirely sure how it is meant to work?

Not sure if that as anything to do with saving/exporting/using POV's?

Okay I am trying to figure out what these are for:

untitled19.png

If I load up a table and then tweak these settings, nothing changes on the screen. FTR, I am only concerned with the Window mode POV for my Pincab.

Still trying to get my head wrapped around these new POV functions. If there is a doc somewhere that speaks to these new features, would someone kindly link me to it.

Thanks.

Yea those are for window POV

but i dont exactly understand them

I think the idea is if filled in correctly and you put a table in window POV the table should POOf correctly for the most part?

no docs yet really, youd have to look through the various change notes in github

Here are my thoughts on these settings:

Curious if others would agree or not.

Aren't the lower part the settings from the video graphics screen ?
Not sure about the upper part, but thing it should be calculated with the settings of the table size, but doesnt work for me.
Lower part is always correct

Yes those three settings are now in video options so they stay the same for every table

I believe that you will need to edit the VPinballX.ini in the hidden folder (Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming|VpinballX) while the app is not running.
Change the default values of the view that you use. Save. Remove the auto-over.pov in the tables folder (i haven’t deleted mine, just in case). Launch the table, hit q to adjust the view.
At that point, my tables have defaulted to the values i entered and then I export the .ini file in order to keep the values on load (you could adjust them at this point as well)

It’s a long haul for 100+ tables though

You are moaning about a few tables to change pov, what do you think how much time the vpx devs spend to make this all happen for us ?

There are not 100 + vpx8 tables. So you really only need to do the current vpx8 tables and should be done at download. It is a waste of time to do all your tables now before vpx8 is finalized.
Almost every fr9ntend I know allows for multipul versions of vpx so launch all tables with vpx and launch the vpx8 tables with vpx8

Hey there, not complaining, just passing along what i’ve done and what I’ve found out. I guess I was echoing (or starting) the sentiment that it might be a waste of time to adjust all the tables before it’s finalized. I’m sorry it came off the wrong way.

Yeah, that's what I was saying a few pages back.  I'm letting this settle a little bit before I dive back in because they are obviously working on some major changes right now.  I'm sure table designers are pulling their hair out at this point... but I'm sure the VPX guys will have it worked out the way they want it before long.

Where are now lighting options from POV mode? Also getting a lot "aplication stopped working error" when starting many tables. This happening in latest beta.

Hey Hitman... I think everything that's left is on the "lights" tab in the editor.
