WIP updated,

- Shaded the backdrop to match the table.

- Linked the backdrop to the night/day slider.

- Added more bounciness to return lane guard rubbers, added more to non slinging slings, and *less where the rubber is right on a post. *(helps with certain passes)

- Further tweak to flipper settings. All tricks I have tried including both live and dead catches are possible.

Damn near final. Any other changes will be very major or very minor.

You are still missing some materials on some things...like tip of plunger as example all that needs to be fixed or those items look pink but apron looks super! And nice vp10 table

I can fix the plunger because you pointed it out, but 'some things' gives me no clue. What I really need is someone with good color vision to mod it. Not only materials but light colors.

But I guess I can assume now that everything that has an image but no material needs a material, or will have either pink parts or a pink tinge. Correct?

Shock man don't forget side materials also

OK I'll share what I've been working on with Sharkey's now
Verne's was a conversion to vp10, Sharkey's is completely rebuilt in vp10 so it should be a better example
It's got a lot of bugs so bare with me, I'll update the file in this link when I update it
graphically to do:
re-do light inserts
add flasher lights to backdrop
add flasher lights to signs
adjust lighting (ramps are noticeably funky)
more GI lighting
etc etc
physics aren't final, it's different enough from physmod that I'm having to relearn all this

Table looks great but ball gets stuck leaving eight ball.

Kidding! ;)

If the lights look correct as far as color, then I can go through and check everything for material. Otherwise I would have to ask someone else to do color correction. But I will check for materials first. Your result will give it a more official title, Beta1 and actually be a release candidate keeping a close eye on VPX beta throughout the rest of it's cycle.

It probably seems stupid, and is actually a brain malfunction, but the reason some things did not have material, is because those things looked better to me without any of the materials, either more vivid, or, um, color correct.

I did however eventually mod a material to get a white tone I liked. I could probably use that for the pink things. Unless I have pink metal or something.

Related,

Some games have a color blind mode. Using imagery and B/W to replace colors. Zuma for example. Games like bejeweled have 2 sets of what appears to me the same color, but shapes save it. Games like klax is unplayable for me.

Edit:

The editor is a bitch this build, so I will probably take a break until it's sorted. Besides the things I mentioned above, including not being able to get back to the editor (the only way I can is if I make sure I close the options window before running the table, but I fail to remember eventually), If I close down with the options window showing the next time I run VP It's window is small and at the upper right of the screen. If I close down VP with the options window closed, next launch I get a full screen editor with a blank options window and the windows on the windows desktop showing above the VP editor.

Thank you randr. Next release will be after I check each and every elements' visible parts and give them a material.

Can there be an auto check function for missing materials?

If they fit easy enough I will use them. The redraw is high res and nice, but some things look wrong to me. I never seen windows, if that is what they are on the shaded buildings. But with them in psd format, I'm sure I could make them work.

I personally don't think this old translite scan I'm using is so bad. I have thought more on adding ware than chrispening it up.

That is just part of the major changes I hinted as possible.

I'm thinking of doing the not unheard of ghost target 4 color mod. That would get a little pink back in there.

Speaking of Pink,,,????

Almost there shock, hope this helps:

I think there's a few more but can't tell. Maybe some screws and posts, check the posts and screws on the left by the gate, and the posts on the right by the gate

assign material to bumper base

assign material to the playfield

Did some of you test the rev1799 under WinXP? I'm asking because I would like to know if there are any strange issues under WinXP or Win7/8 with rev1799 and we should fall back building VP with Visual Studio 2008.

Win 8.1

I have mentioned that if the editor does not jump to the back when the table is ran, it opens all kinds of issues, and that is only with this latest build. But if the table does come up front, There are no problems.

Ok thanks. Your reported issue is already fixed and you will be able to activate the floating property window in the editor preferences
