In williams design they use zeners to stabilze the voltages..

looks like Arkay has solved the ghosting on the 0603 vishay display , i need to test it on the other types of displays to make sure they are still ok.

if all cool ill upload a new revision of the firmware

Hey guys, a guy near me has a dmd available that I could buy, but I'm not sure if it will work with the pindmd. He says the numbers on it are:
0001-42-84a
53331104354
Rn32/rn1
4284-a

He says it is out of a world cup soccer.

Can anybody tell me more about the specs of this dmd, and if it will work with the pindmd? Thanks. Sparky

sounds like its an old vishay Plasma display

my board will control this display just fine but will NOT power it.
as long as you power the display my board will interface with it just fine

Noah may be charging a higher price. Many are assuming it's Future Electronics that are jacking up the price, and it may be, but it might also be the vishay or whomever is the 3rd party between vishay and FE. We'll know when we see Noah's prices I guess.

I WAS feeling sad for having ordered the cheaper red vishay but if the price points end up higher, I guess I'm not so sad anymore. Hopefully prices end up going down for you guys, this does suck.

Definitely not charging anywhere NEAR that.

We're looking at carrying the orange 8x8 segmented DMDs, which my source tells me have better clarity than the solid DMDs, with a colored film lens. Much like Stern used on AC/DC. We anticipate a price point of around $279.95 USD.

The wait is killing me! Any news? All I ever hear is, "soon".

Yes. If it came from a World Cup Soccer then it is the one with the crazy voltages.
The only two solutions are to run it from a real pinball power supply, which is not very easy to set up or to wait for Russ' dad to complete the conversion board.

Vishay doesn't move fast, so we're at their mercy. I'm still awaiting my sample for testing, as well, before we place the order. It could be 3-4 weeks before we have them in stock.

That's the best we can do.

new version of the led firmware has been uploaded with the ghosting fix (have not tested my self but Arkay says its cool )

you can download it from my sig

hopefully it sorts out the ghosting for you guys as well , iv tested on segmented pinled display and it works great (although this display did not seam to suffer from the ghosting)

for what ever reason you want to return to the previous firmware its in the archive folder 'firmware-189.zip'

i forget to tell something the dmd is very brightness and reflect into playfield that the reason why a bought a non-glare filter i hope i'll work
