No, that's why its okay to still try to get it compiled for those few with old cabs, etc.

I compiled PinMAME on Linux (Ubuntu and Arch) from the seemingly active GitHub repo and found a few "compiler issues." I created a PR on GitHub. Is that the best way to communicate changes, suggestions, etc.?

@OxACE, the "seemingly active GitHub repo" is a clone of SVN.

I step up a raspberry pi several years ago that syncs with the pinmame and vpinball SVN repos every 30 minutes.

That's why I had mentioned the GitHub issue queue wasn't regularly monitored.

Hello, I'm part of a group that likes to make edits of songs from games as a joke, including pinball games. I noticed .vgm logging was added fairly recently and while it is very cool and good I was wondering if adding support for samples was being worked on or at least can be expected in the future?

Support for samples in what way?

Because the answer might be that it already does

We can only support what the VGM format does support. So as it for example does not support the HC55516 or the DCS chips, there is no way to output these to that file.  :/

(AFAIK)

And to my knowledge i added support for all VGM-supported chips. If i forgot some, please let me know.

Do you also maybe have a link to your songs (just out of interest)?

btw: The switch to github happened in the meantime: https://github.com/vpinball/pinmame/

Still a bit rough, but we're getting there. Thanks to the VPE team for the help!!

just turn the volumes on the other audio processors to nothing

then get the rom playing the music you want, and audio capture it?

That could work, is there a way to disable channels in VPinMame or would another program work better?

It's MAME, for pinball
It works the same way, hit tab and pick sliders or hit tilde and just arrow key up/down to find them

Wasn't aware this was a feature, I'll check it out.

It's pretty impressive how PinMAME was so constantly maintained over all those years...

It's fun after all..  :)

Hmmm.. Do you know how that was done? Directly from HW?

Or dumping the full audio stream from emulation?

I didn't make this but knowing other "high quality rips" (as they call them) made by the person who did, I believe they used this set of .vgm rips: https://vgmrips.net/...iams-system-11b

I have no idea how these .vgms got ripped though.

From ctr: 'I used the 32X PWM channel to play the ripped samples'

Phew. That's a possibility indeed. Whacky, but this way one could store all kinds of samples into VGM.

I don't think though that i can add this easily (but i'll put it on my looooooong todo list), as one would need to track the sample start/end, then convert and store in that whacky fashion.

Doable, but nothing that is done quickly, especially not for all kinds of machines.

Hi toxie!

I got this rom dump of Mac Attack, since he old one didn't work or there wasn't a good dump of it, so StrangeLeo75 got a machine and dumped the roms. Could to check if the rom works or if it is possible to make it work?

I made Motor Show for VPX (although with my own graphics) from the same company, Mr Game, and I think it should be nice if this one worked too :) The ROM display is quite unique in the tables from this company.
