In case anybody has the same problem on ATI catalyst drivers:
speed24s solution pointed in the exactly right direction, just paradoxically in my case I had to do exactly opposite: turn anti-aliasing application controlled OFF and then manually to the maximum 8X. And now it looks great.

Now I can appreciate the tables fully, Pinbot is clearly 10 out of 10!
"texture pack with brighter images" That would be sweeet!
Wouldn't it be too much hassle if it would be just for me? I don't know if there is anybody else who would love that. Did you ever hear a similar request? The light shows look stunning in an utter darkness so I can see the point of making it the way you do. How flexible is VP, can script dynamically change textures?
Maybe it would be possible in some future release to have both Total Night and Evening and a switch. Or even tie it to the PC time
The light show is draining enough on the pc, with all those textures it would kill it. It's just a matter of changing the exposure on the textures i already have that will brighten it up. It only takes a second to do in photoshop. I'm a little busy at the moment with work and a tutorial i'm writing right now, but i will have an update for the table and a brighter texture pack within a week or 2
